GEC has released a new picture on the #13 series. These look real fine knives, slim and functional. This thread is to track and talk about the #13 series... Alright, let's roll! :D

Interesting - so they finally got around to using the 2013 Forum Knife frame again. Looks like some good options.

Yes!! I love a 2 blade congress pen and the clerk looks great! I have not bought a knife in a long time but I believe I'll have one of those

Given that the 13 and the 61 utilise the same frame; doesn't the Clerk look a little familiar?

Pen replaces coping of course, but I thought the whole point of the 13 frame was that it was a single pivot jack. It makes no sense. Oh Mr Bill, how you vex me! :P

I could get very used to a "speaker jack", hereafter referred to as sj, or a clerk, hereafter referred to as clerk. :D It appears that the new #13 lineup will be just a touch longer than the #61's. Closer to 3 3/4" than3 5/8". If that's true they may well be bigger overall; I'm sure we all have experienced knives that seem as though they are identical on paper, but once in hand are drastically different. Perhaps this will be the case here,or not. They look good tho' . Heck, if you think about it & they do three handle iterations, that's 9 new knives! Plus inevitable sfos, etc. Good times, good times.
Thanks, Neal

Good point, Paul. At first I thought maybe the 13 would have no half stops to differentiate it from the 61 but I see now that the 13 forum knife did have half stops.

Looks like I'll need to set aside some funds for the Speaker Jack. Loved the pattern on the Forum Knife, but did not like the scales. I've been holding out hope for this pattern in a nice jigged bone.

Yep this pattern screams for antler and MOP in Northfield trim

OK I must admit I don't understand the Northfield thing. Why would I want that ?

Two separate GEC brands, separate cover offerings, better fit-and-finish on Northfield than Tidioute resulting in a price difference. Exotic covers go on Northfield. There are exceptions, but you get the idea.

Having said that, I love the single-blade Whip... hope GEC releases more info soon... possibly these are single-spring offerings?
