New GEC #14 Boys Knife

Methinks I might be a new GEC fangirl from now on! I now understand what y'all have been gushing about in so many different threads. And I intend to look into more Boker Tree Brand knives. The addiction has firmly taken ahold of me. [emoji4]

Alex

Uh oh. I've heard about this kind of thing. The first one is free, and now you're hooked. :D

Congratulations, Alex, and well done, Mrknife.

now now, im just glad they made it there ok!

Just catching up on this thread, that was a very cool gift mrknife! Congrats felinegirl!

Great looking knives, Alex and great pics too! Those little #14's can be addicting. I'm usually not much for blade etches but I can't help liking the etch on that Barlow.

Very nice gesture, Jack!

Excellent gesture, mrknife! You'll enjoy the heck out of those two, felinegirl. I've got my Ebony #14 in my watch pocket today, and I just love this pattern. The addiction is real! I think I've added around 50 knives this year!

Just received my first two GEC's today, 2-14s one red rust one nifebrite. Couldn't be happier with the quality of these little knives. The wife immediately claimed the nifebrite and my daughter is trying hard to convince me that the red just isn't for me!
No doubt there is a micarta ( green or black if I find it) in my future.

I think micarta is fairly easy to dye. Pick up a green micarta and some black RIT dye and you should be all set.

My #14 Lick Creek Boys Knife.

Man those 14s look awesome. Anyone know when gecs doing a run with clip points? If its too far off, i may have to add one of the spear points to my christmas list...

First my thanks to Bob. Mine is not as rotten as some, haha. Beautiful knife executed beautifully. Only pile side photo for now, photobucket acting up.

Alan

Gosh that is gorgeous!
If you ever want to move that knife let me know.

I've been rediscovering my #14's after a few months of neglect. It is funny how new knives can take hold of all your attention. But if a knife is a keeper you will always come back to it.

I'm liking this one more with a little subtle patina.

I too am interested in them running a run with clip blades. I like that blade profile better then the spear. That being said, I've been looking for a single blade version with a spear and they can't be found anywhere! GEC hit it out of the park with this little knife :)

Travman very nice example there, lot of appeal.

I have a Rust Red single and an Oily Creek 2 blade Jack. Generally I like single blades but I feel in this instance the knife benefits from having thicker scales and 2 springs in the hand.

@Will Power, I agree. Generally I don't love 2 blade Jacks because of the thickness compared to a single blade. However, on the smaller knives extra thickness can be nice.

@Ramrodmb. A clipblade 14 would be spectacular. I've seen a couple of spear point versions modified into a clip point and these looked really nice.

I have my single blade jigged bone version with me today.
