Very cool. Blade appears to be slightly thicker than my Camillus BK2 (.254" compared to .208"). The thickness makes this knife sort of a throwback to the early Campanions (for me at least... maybe I got a thinner Camillus blank). Combined with the skeletonized tang, it definitely makes the model more weight forward. The stock sheath is nice IMO. I got one with the new jimped thumb push, and while it is tight, it's not tight to the point that I want to do any modding. Now if I could just get that Derek fellow to start mass producing those sheath boxes. :p

My Camillus BK2 is the same thickness as yours.Nice knife and sheath combo in the 2nd pic!Been wanting one of those sheaths for awhile, keep putting it off.

Nice, I have the same one. I decided to drill out the rivet at the front of the blade(like Flexxx did). I figured I can always put a chicago screw in if it gets too loose.

I second the motion. Would love to have one. Btw, what is the sheath in the lower photo?

Nah, Derek made a box the shape of the stock sheath. The thread is around here somewhere. Very cool idea.

I have one of Derek's BK2 Boxes, I'm hoping to give it a good work out soon. I spent today at soccer, napping, and playing outside with knives. Built a new fire pit, and worked with my eldest daughter on her knife skills.

Equipment writeups a comin'. Swear.

Guyon, I've been looking at various BK2 knives at different websites and like the one you have [flat pommel]. The pics on these sites may not be accurate [up to date]. May I ask where you purchased yours?

Both of my well loved Camillus BK-2's are 3/16ths. If the new Kabar BK-2's are a real 1/4 i might have to pick one up!

Aha, so there was more than one made. I want one. Derek should mass produce them.

Here's a cool pic of the new blade.

Sweet photo Guyon. Really nice.

Thanks Quartet Tank, appreciated. I thought that's what it was, but I didn't know a tin would fit in the pouch. I thought it was too small.

The tin is not quite a full-sized Altoid tin. Close, but not quite.
I purchased a couple at Best Glide when I was picking up a canteen stove set-up. They have a rubber gasket around the inside cap to make them a little more waterproof. Tight fit, but with a little tugging, it worked. I'm wondering if, after the material stretches over time, I might be able to squeeze a slightly bigger tin in there.

Hey bladerique, I didn't get it from a vendor. I worked out a trade with a fellow forumite who had an extra BK2.

I can fit an altoids tin in mine, but talk about 5lbs of fertilizer in a 3lbs bag. Right now, I got paracord in mine. Really though, it would work for several important component storage, just not in an altoids tin.

BK2's are scarce right now, but if you find a dealer with them in stock, they will be the Gen2 BK2. I don't think there are any Gen 1's left sitting on the shelves anymore. I could be mistaken, but I haven't heard of anyone getting one in a long time.

Nice pic G, that fireside silhouette is a good lookin' pic.

Yeah, it's a noticeable difference. Here a quick spine shot of both.
