NEW Gerber Bear Grylls Knife What Are Your Opinions?

It'd still get you out of a situation I'd reckon. At least the serrations wont snap off like they usually do on these knives.
 
Take $50....get a Mora and either a CS Bushman or one of the Condor offerings plus a firestarter. Done.

If Fiskars would spend an hour on Bladeforums, they would realize from folks on here that they could spend probably an extra 35 cents per knife and have products which would receive lots of compliments.....can you imagine a Paraframe in 8cr13mov or AUS8 even if it cost a buck or so more? That actually wouldn't be a bad offering.
 
Guys, you've completely misread the name and purpose of this knife...

It's not the "Bear Grylls Survival Knife."

It's the "Bear Grylls' Survival Knife."

i.e., he survives by getting suckers to buy his knife and put money into his pocket. It's a survival knife for him... That's why it falls apart when performing light field tasks... the survival part isn't referring to the user.
 
there's about 100 knives I'd take over this one. at least the serrations are gone. the fire starter, whistle, and sharpener are good ideas but in execution the whole thing is practiacally a cheap novelty.
