At the Eugene show Saturday I had the pleasure of meeting Sal (and Eric - sort of - apparently Friday night was a little rough). Saw some of the new goodies coming, or potential, and let me tell you there is reason for excitement!

First, four words: Titanium Frame Lock Military. WOW!!!!

Other words of interest:

Gayle Bradley M4 liner-lock - if this is made I think it will be huge, if is SOOO smooth and feels SO good in the hand! Great mid-size serious working knife. This is the one I'm drooling for!

Bodacious - think of a mega-"Spin" lockback with G10 handle slabs - seriously sweet

Fred Perrin folders - just plain awesome

Leafstorm - great little folder

other stuff I can't recall since no pics allowed but tons of goodies there - this will be a very good year coming up!!!

WOW! That's great news. Thanks for letting us know. I'm really looking forward to see some of the Perrin concepts.
Hope the photos will be available soon.

Gayle Bradly M4 folder, that is the one the has me drooling without seeing it just because I love the steel so much. I wonder what hardness range Spyderco plans on running it at. My Krein custom in M4 I think is in the low 60's, and I am extremely impressed with the performance. Was the prototype a bare blade or a coated blade? In my year and a half with my uncoated M4 blade it only had one tiny corrosion spot on it, but I am sure to wipe mine off good after every use. I would love to see a run of Paras or Millies, or even better a Manix 2 in M4. Tough knives like those with a steel much tougher and with much better edge properties than the steel they come in now would be great. M4 gets so sharp so easily it is great, and it holds the edge for a long time as well. I really hope we can see more knives in this steel.

Dude! A flat ground Manix 2 in M4 would be insanely great!

And wow. Spyderco's making it very have for me to concentrate on fixed blades with what they've been putting out lately and are going to be putting out soon. Some seriously nice stuff.

And actually, the whole M4/Manix 2 gives me an idea...

Sal & Eric,

PLEASE make a fullsize Manix 2 Sprint with a CPM-3V black coated blade, carbon fiber scales, and full flat grind!

Fullsize Manix 2 is in the works, but last time Sal replied when I asked the status, he mentioned the blade wasn't even prototyped yet. He mentioned it'd have at least a 4 inch blade. No mentioning of steel.

If I recall correctly the Perrin folders were liner-locks. The G10 handles were figured in an Anso-like fashion for extra traction. They looked and felt VERY cool. But the Bradley in M4 (proto was uncoated) felt GREAT. I asked Sal why he wasn't planning on making the Ti Millie (that felt REALLY great) in M4 instead of S30V and he said b/c M4 was such a huge pain in the ass to grind. They hate making it, but know we love buying it, so the Spydie team makes some concessions to us their loyal fans. Thank you Sal!

The Bodacious and Gayle Bradley sound pretty sweet.

Spyderco doesn't allow pictures, but what about people drawing the prototypes they saw? Probably a no-go as well, but I want to see those knives so bad!

I'd love to know why there are no pics of the framelock Mil, nothing to protect in the design.

Fred Perrin folders? Sounds like Spyderco will be getting more of my hard earned money.

Thanks for the info;), sadly I was hoping to hear at least a frame-lock, I love Fred Perrin designs, but maybe in the future will come a version with a frame-lock.
...I' ll concentrate my attention to the Native 4 carbon fiber, but it's really expensive here in Italy (more than the old Manix); I don't know if I will buy it, even if it is awesome.
