Bought my second knife from New Graham Knives. Ordered it on Sunday, and got it on Thursday. Price and selection are tops, but I'm just not sure about those bandaids he packs with each knife!!!!

You're right, it's an outrage, I don't know how they've got away with it for so long.

I suggest you rewrap the knife, including those offensive bandaids, and send it all to me. I will take care of the problem for you.

Better keep the baindaids they are good for any cut not matter where you buy the knife from :) Thanks guys.

IMO the bandages are just included for the persons who ships them from the store. They don't want the box messed up with blood streaks, and to prove that no human blood was in contact with your knife they include the UNUSED bandage.
The day u find a used one I would ship it back!!! :D

Now, WAIT A MINUTE! I didn't get any bandaids with MY order with New Graham Knives from back about a month ago.:(...(A Camillus/Becker BK-9, a Streamlight Twin Task 2L, and some batteries)...Or do you figure that I can light my way with the flashlight while I'm doing my cutting with the BK-9, so that I won't cut myself, thus not needing the bandaids?.:D.

Dann,
You better send me your address. You need a dispenser. I have 9 oe 10 of them around here.

New Graham is the best.

Thanks for the nice offer, but since I've been "into" sharp objects for quite some time now, I've gathered-up a pretty good (and well used  ) "wound care kit" already.:D.

But is this marked as a New Graham Knives bandaid dispenser that they give out?...One of those would be cool to own...

Hej You Know What?

That's good bussines practice! Care for the well being of their customers.

kee :)

i was wondering if u cut yourself a LOT with knives shouldn't there been some tough scartissue in your skin? Maybe sending the bandage is a sign that they think u are a newbie? I found out that glueing i the best way to help heeling a cut.
Fast, hassle free, but there is a little stinging involved.

Yeah, I have heard some time ago of stapler and glue for surgical wound instead of suture, but is the surgical glue available for sale to the public?

Never come across it in the pharmacy yet. It would be real useful I am sure, but got the keep the cuts absolutely clean before gluing though.

Yes, it's called super glue! A tube of regular old super glue good for at least a year is about $2. If you want to get al technical about it there is actually the true surgical grade super glue sold in the same section as bandaids, something like $10 for a few applications.

Surgical grade glus is available here but it is pretty pricy per application.

I've been told that the commercial OTC stuff is not sterile or has more "stuff" in it than the surgical grade product.

Folks, thanks for all the good words.
Sending out bandages with the knives in no way says we think you are a klutz...but we realize if you dance with the blade, she will likely kiss you some day.
As many know, New Graham is a corner drug store also. We have Band-Aid brand Liquid bandage (2-acetylcyanocrylate...kinda like superglue). Cost is $7.29 for 10 applications (10 activators, 40 drops). You should be able to find it at most local pharmacies.
The point about cleaning the wound and 'what else' might be in Superglue is a valid point.

He is just trying to promote his pharmacy with that band aid scam........

those guys from West Virginny are not NEARLY as slow as they pretend!!! :D

i've read that the superglue was designed as a mean of closing undeep wounds on the battlefield during the Vietnam war. The glue only glues the skin, it doesn't desinfect, so u should clean it first with a desinfectant and then glue it, because otherwise it will just fester under the glue. The difference with medical wound glue is that it is sterelised and made in one dose throw away tubes.

As sending superglue with every knife shipment would be a BIG mistake. "If it's broken? Glue it yourself !" :D

loki, I agree...bandaids are our limit in free first aid supplies....and very functional.

I've met Mike Dye in person and he actually does talk like that ;)
KIDDING

I started my band-dispener collection last year with my first order from NGK. On my first order, I ripped open the box, smiled to myself after seeing the dispenser, and pulled out a Calypso Jr. Two minutes later, my thumb got kissed and there was a nice cut. I just reached over and pulled out a band-aid, applied it and kept palying with my new toy. Got to love the way the mountain knife sellers think.
