I have often wondered about your avatar........
How about this. Make a Temporary platform. Keep building it up until you are grinding comfortably. 2x's, plywood etc. Actually do some grinding to make sure you are comfortable. Then measure the height between the makeshift riser and the top of the work bench. Figure out how much space you will need on the sides of the grinder. Make a small bench the same depth as the bench you have now by the width you will need and attach it to the left side of your current bench. You might have to move your hammers and maybe the shelf. Make it the height you measured from the riser to the top of the bench. Or a little lower. You can always add a piece of plywood to the top to bring it up higher.
