The Grip Vs. Endura has been done before but now that they both have been redesigned which would you go with? And are the new grips even out yet?

The Griptilian has not been redesigned it only has new blade steel. The Endura has been redesigned. Personally I think the Endura 4 or Delica 4 are great knives. I have a Griptilian but not a new Endura or Delica. I'd like to try one.

I'd say just from what I've seen that they are both great knives. However VG-10 is a little better than 154CM I believe.

I think you could probably just flip a coin on this one.

To me, the new endura 4 puts it back in front of the pack. Previously, I'd considered the endura the best of the lightweights, and Grip the best if you didn't care about size & weight. Now the endura 4 takes the whole thing. Love the blade hole, love how the liners add stiffness, great ergonomics, best blade shape going, and still much thinner and more carryable than the Grip. Add to that the fact that waved endura 4 and delica 4s are coming.

I don't like lockbacks and I do like steel liners. Grip and minigrip all the way.

The D`allara drop point is a MUCH better comparison to the full sized Grip. Read my review, which compares it to the Griptillian I had on loan that day.

Compares favorably. A little too big for me, but so's the Endura.

I agree with Artfully Martial. If you are going to compare knives, I think the Griptilian should be compared with the D'Alara Drop Point. It also has VG-10 steel It is alot like the Grip. And yes, as far as I can tell, the only difference on the new Grip is the steel. I have the D'Alara and love it!! Her is a pic.

i think the big thing it boils down to is which lock you prefer, for me i like the axis lock so id go with the new grip.
though i think im getting a waved endura when they come out

The D'Allara is definitely a very close match to the Grip, feature-by-feature. The endura 4, for me, is a better solution than either of them, and the waved versions will make it a no-brainer.

Note to A.M., the endura 4 does have steel liners! It feels stiff like a Grip. Can't do anything about the fact that it's a lockback, but for anyone who doesn't dislike lockbacks, the endura 4 is hard to beat -- and is much more comfortable to carry than either the Grip or D'Allara.

I'm embarassed to admit I have no idea what this means. Can I get an assist, guys?

Ernest Emerson has given Spyderco permission to use the Wave-opener feature on the Delica and Endura. (The first generation of them was the Endura limited to 500 models.)

It is a hook-type opener on the top of the blade that looks like a wave that you hook on the edge of the pocket it is being carried in as it is taken out to be used.

Question: will these be removable waves, like on the Pakal knife? If so, how could anyone resist??

I'd have to go with the Griptilian on this one due to the axis lock. That being said, I'm comparing the Delica 4 to the mini-Griptilian because I just don't carry a knife as large as the Endura or full sized Grip. Now, with that being said, if Sal and Co. provided us with a mini-D'Allara drop point (by mini, I mean 4.25 closed at the maximum with around a 3" blade) then I'd be all over that and I wouldn't need the mini-Griptilian anymore.

So the ball lock from Spyderco works like the AXIS lock? When will the waved Spydies be out and how much more will they be?

"MaxFisher", check out the "Stretch". It's very much like a mini-D'Allara except the handle is mostly stainless (and thin).

I like the endura over the girp as well....VG-10 has always gotten sharper for me and I like the liners in it and the torx screws so that I can adjust it:D . That really made me a happy camper. I just like the knife.

If I recall correctly, Sal said the waves on the endura & delica will not be removeable.
