I just received my new Ganga Ram Special...not the baby, but the full-size beast. It is a beauty. It has an almost perfect curve along the back of the blade from the handle down to the tip, which I really like.
The chopping area of the blade sings as I run a crock stick across it. Neither of my other two khukris do that. I guess it is a combination of the blade hardness and the almost hollow grind at the edge.
There was only one flaw...the handle got a slight ding during shipping. Other than that-perfect.
Also, the brass chape on the tip of the scabbard had come loose and fell off as I was handling it. The sarki had done the leather finishing underneath very nicely, so I decided to leave it off for a while and see how I like it. That brass chape always make me more nervous than the blade.
I haven't had time to do a field run with it. The only thing I have chopped were three ***** willow stalks that my wife needed me to cut so she could plant them ("See how useful this thing is?")
Anyway, for what my 2/100 of a dollar is worth, if you don't have a GRS, you really need one.
