New GSO 2.7 Thread

I posted this in the 2.7 photos thread, but thought you guy's wouldn't mind it being here as well...;)

arrived in the mail today. From the July 5th 2nd's sale.

First impressions: Love it!

I'm really impressed with how filling and comfortable the handle is for such a small knife. Looks like I found my new detail skinning knife!

Today I received an email that you now can buy the 2.7 at the presale. How about the people who pre-ordered the knife 1.5 years ago? I think that everybody who preorded the knife should get the knife first instead of factory seconds and presale. I really like this brand and felosofy and I'm a real Survive! Knife fa and will keep buying from them in the future. This is even the only fixed bladed knife company I buy from, but I think they should get their act together on their sale dates.

I wouldn't let this bother you as I can't imagine it will impact our preorders from last year. This is just a last chance for people who missed out on the starter to lock in a knife. Like with 5.1's and 4.7's I'm sure the order of delivery will continue to be:

1st-Monday sale factory seconds
2nd-starter/preorders
3rd-limited time presale
4th-Monday sale factory firsts until the stock is gone and they move onto the next model

Neil...that jade looks awesome.

I just got mine to add to the half dozen(baby status compared to many here) S!Ks...triple camo g10 w/ green sheath, black hardWEAR. Woohoo! :)

It will be my new go-to neck knife.

I'm hoping it comes with the Delta Heat Treat...perhaps Silver Needle already knows?

As far as I know, the delta is a package deal with 3v steel only. The 2.7 you ordered will have a better heat treat than my old spec necker II, but not delta.

I thought that might be the case considering it's cpm 20cv. Thanks for the quick response Silver!
 
So delighted that S!K has made it possible for folks like myself who missed the preorder for the 2.7 to get into the queue again. Finally I can have a 2.7 without having to jump into the feeding frenzy of the Monday shark tank. Thanks Guy and Ellie!
 
I am hoping the wait is genuinely a few months. I really don't have the extra cash to leave it parked for long periods of time, so this seemed ideal. I popped for a 2.7 this afternoon, and it will be my first Factory 1st S!K. No, if someone has figured out how to simply forget about having a what you know will be an amazing knife on order, I would appreciate the tip. I waited 3+ months for 2 different knives this summer and it is a killer!

Based on your picture, I tried to get a jade handled 2.7 in today's pre-sale. No jade. Oh well - still got in on the 2.7 offering. That is such a nice looking setup!
 
CHEESE AND RICE!!!! I had blown this one off like a few others. Seeing the real deal, I MUST have one now. That Ghost Jade G10 in 20CV is going to haunt me each night. Looks like I'll pay a pretty penny on the secondary market when the gouging begins. It's my own fault.

Get the knife on order now, in whatever handles you can get/live with. Then make your own (I've seen your other posts) or score a set of handles when they become available on the site. It's such a popular color I'm sure there will be more available in the supplies section.

GREAT advice. Just ordered one with black linen!! Choices were getting slim. AND, I saved $15 bucks because I'll build my own sheath. That $15.00 will buy a nice set of Ghost Jade G10 slabs for new scales. :cool:
 
I got in on the pre sale tonight the 2.7 will be my 2nd S!k so now the ? Is which gets here first the 2.7 or the cru forge v!

The email stated a couple months meaning two months. I will not be surprised if it's double that.
