Sid Post, For those of us who shoot handguns, little things like an easier magazine release and a ridiculously simple takedown for cleaaning with no barrel bushing to mess with are, IMO, vast improvements. So is the impact bushing over the guide rod/spring. That means I can shoot virtually unlimited quantities of plus P or plus-P-plus ammo with no worries about 'battering' my handgun into a piece of junk. Something not true with the 1911 unless one does some customization and adds aftermarket parts. To me, the most amazing thing about the HK was its ability to 'digest' a wide variety of ammo with no hiccups at all. Sometimes, getting a 1911 and clones to accept HP and semi wad ammo without jams and stovepipes is a struggle. The HP 'ate' every type of ammo with no problems. As both a shooter and LEO I was thoroughly impressed. Ditto with the non radioactive night sights. Those on the HK use some kind of glow in the dark chemical wherein only a minute of bright light yields a couple of hours of glowing sights. How long they'll last I don't know but right now, I'm thrilled.
