Good evening all,
New to the forum, though I've worn out, lost, and continue to carry knives bearing dozens of brands from cheap to shameful. Typically very traditional, I am usually carrying Case, Benchmade, or within the last three years or so, Cold Steel, including their Espada, Recon, and Voyager.
My new son, at his ripe one and a half years, "bought me" a Cold Steel Ranch Hand II, which with its traditional look and feel was a nice, economical choice. I recently put it to use removing the head from a unreasonable boar whose theft of our planted bermuda I found objectionable. I'm please with the Ranch Hand's factory grind, and am more please with how well it holds an edge, which I've found characteristic of most Cold Steels. Though certainly not the top of the line, I believe a user gets more than their money's worth with this particular model.
I'm very pleased with CS's quality for the price, generally being very reasonable. I would like to go out on a limb and purchase their Frontier Bowie to hang from my saddle, but would like some feedback from anyone whose owned this knife firsthand.
On a minor note, I am curious about a website I ran across- https://texanknives.us/, not to be confused with the similarly named texanknives.com, which I have seen discussed on this forum.
Being unable to handle their knives in person, I am skeptical of using them, not to mention the fact that I cannot seem to find any direct contact information, nor have I found any reviews or discussion of this website online. Has anyone had an experience with this particular vendor? What has your experience been with them, and what about the quality of the knives?
I appreciate your time and contribution.
Edit- It seems I posted a "new guy" thread a while ago regarding Pakistani knives. Perhaps not so much a new guy as much as a new user. All the same, looking forward to getting more use out you knowledgeable users.
