I got a new one to replace the TacForce knife. It's a Kershaw Leek stainless pocket knife. I got it for about $47.

I'm satisfied.

Great choice. The leek is one of my favorites and there are so many variations they can be very collectible. Now you just need a kershaw blur, scallion, and maybe a zt down the road for good measure ;)

Nice knife. The Leek is very popular. Nothing wrong with that.

Check out the Bugout or Griptilian if you want a great Benchmade for just over $100.

Thanks, everyone! I love having something stainless. I have enough plastic on my guns.

Stick with kershaw for a while. They have some great knives that wont break the bank and they are easy to resell as your tastes become more discriminating and more expensive. For $100 you can have 2-3 Kershaws and have fun playing. Blur, Knockout, Cryo1, Cryo2, Camber, Skyline, etc. Don't pay attention to the MSRP. they can be had for a lot less. You can also get a lot of them pre-owned. You can also look at the Spyderco Byrd line, CRKT. Pick the styles you like and go to YouTube and check out the reviews. Once you get the knife bug you can move up the ranks to Spyderco, ZT etc. and a bunch of other companies and eventually get your first Chris Reeve. Have fun.

I do like the knife. Gerber seems to make good fixed knives that are reasonably priced.

I go shooting with my guns. Is there anything fun you can do with knives besides cutting paper or just staring at their beautiful construction?

Here's the TacForce knife:
It's not bad, but it definitely feels cheaper.

Yeah, I've had I think 2 TAC-FORCE knives that weren't horrible and my brother had just 1 that actually lasted a year before he lost it.
They definitely know how to make some funky fantasy type designs.

Good on you for upgrading to a reasonably priced high value Kershaw.

Gerber has a big problem. They have their good knives mixed in with the crappy ones so you need to check reviews before getting one. It seems that you are stuck in cheap knives world. It's time to graduate to the real stuff. Kershaw and CRKT are the first layer of collecting, it gives you a feel of what the expensive knives feel like. Gerber and Tac-Force are the Home Shoppers version of real knives.

The Leek is one of my faves. I like Kershaw a lot... not expensive, but well constructed and they stand behind their product 100%.

If you go with some Gerber stuff down the road, stick to their USA made stuff. I like it just fine.

I'll echo the recommendation for a Benchmade Bugout. A third of the weight of the Leek and heck of a cutter.

Hang around in the Knife Exchange section. Lots of stuff to look at and you can really score a bargain here and there.

I've never had fun with the tools that I use. I get enjoyment from working with quality tools that makes the job easier.
I have fun collecting knives, it's fun to sharpen my knives, but that may fall under the more enjoyable category. It's fun to cut things with my knife. It fun to see the reaction of someone's face when you tell them how much you paid for a knife :D
