New guy here - Looking for recommendations

If you don't mind tracking down something discontinued, you might find the Kershaw Mini Cyclone to your liking. I bought one on a whim while looking for an "in-between-sized" folder and ended up starting to collect the damned things.

Yea, fixed blades are pretty much out of question. I work in an office setting, so I stick to folders that I can fit in my pocket.
If your willing to spend around 120 or so and you like the ergos of spyderco then it stands to reason that you should give the Sage model line a serious consideration. I edc a sage 1 and absolutely love everything about it.
I too own a PM2 and found it on the larger size. I also don't quite care for the locking mechanism. Don't get me wrong it's an outstanding knife it's just my sage suits me better for my etc needs.

I like that none are made in China or Taiwan. Maybe some good steel comes from there... I dunno. I also know that a lot of junk comes from China and I'd rather avoid it altogether.

While China and Taiwan are typically associated with lesser quality, when it comes to Spyderco and their Taiwan made knives, this couldn't be further from the truth. The Taiwan made Spydies are some of the highest quality knives they make. I would put the quality of my Sage 1 at or above any of Spyderco's US produced knives.

BTW...excellent choice on the PM2. You will love it. It's my favorite Spydie, with the Manix 2 and Sage 1 close behind.

The Leek, Delica, and Mini-Grip are awesome knives. Great way to start your collection. Those three have been mainstays in my EDC rotation for a while.

Some ideas for expanding on your collection... Not sure of your budget, but I think most of these can be found for around $100 or less (Mini-Grip is ~$90, so I'm using that as a ballpark upper bound).

- Composite Blade Leek - everything you love about the Leek, but with a flat grind and D2 cutting edge (very tough, and edge retention not far from S30V in my experiences) - this is probably my most carried of all my knives
- Skyline - manual flipper, nice and slim EDC blade (there's a recently released carbon fiber handled version with a S30V flat ground blade as well)
- Blur - if you like assisted-openers, the Blur is a must-have (there are some recently released variations sporting Elmax and S30V flat ground blades)
- CQC-5K or 6K - these are Chinese-made models, but the designs are nice and well executed - wave opener is definitely worth trying out
- Caly3 - the knife that finally overtook the Delica as my favorite Spyderco (Delica still comes in a close second) - the CF version has a ZDP-189 cutting edge, but runs a ways over $100
- Endura - a bigger Delica
- Paramilitary 2 - very popular Spyderco model, pretty versatile design and features the compression lock
- Ritter Mini-Grip - Mini-Grip with wider flat ground M390 blade - my favorite Benchmade knife (I have one of the older ones with S30V blade)
