Hello all. I've been enjoying reading the posts and drooling over the pics on the Busse forum here. There are some excellent photographers on the board by the way. Did my homework and read through the stickies as well. I've enjoyed collecting and using knives over the years but have yet to get my hands on any of this infamous "INFI" steel. I'm seriously considering a purchase but would like a little feedback from the experts here. I'm currently need something for camp/hike duties for which I usually carry something with right around a 5" blade. Any suggestions on what I should be looking for. Is there a master list anywhere that contains the specs (blade length, overall length, weight, etc.) on all the knives from Busse? Lastly, I did read up on the whole Ganza thing. Looks like I'll have put some money aside for the next one. Are there any advantages/disadvantages of ordering this way. Aside from ebay and the exchange here can anyone recommend any alternatives for making a purchase. Thanks in advance.

The ASH that is currently available is a little bigger than 5", but may suit your needs.

Other that would fit the bill, but would have to be purchased on the Exchange are:
Badger Attack TAC (BATAC)
Satin Jack TAC (SJTAC)
Natural Outlaw Ergo (NO-e)
Hell Razor (HR)

Lots of great info here.

Welcome to the addiction!:D

I like the BATAC as my 5" Busse choice. They come in many different handle and blade thickness choices, but you can always custom order one from Busse direct if you can't find anything you like on the exchange.

Here are a few of mine to peak your interest.

Hello and welcome. You will soon find that INFI will become your best friend and worst enemy.Nothing can be done about it now though so enjoy the ride. All of the suggestions above are fantastic. ASH is my fav so far. If youd consider something a little smaller you can also think of a Meaner. Not exactly a one knife camp blade but can cover alot of bases paired with something larger. Want one soon myself. Once again welcome and make yourself at home.

Welcome, ponte! :D

I love my BATACs! The ASH would be great if you want a heavier knife (it feels awesome!), but the CG BATAC is a bit thinner and is right at the 5" mark. Once you get one, you'll probably end up with both anyway. :D

Good luck!

You will be amazed at what a beast this knife is.

When you camp what are the duties you need from the knife?

For example I don't need to chop wood and dig fire pits. I do need to cut food and clean fish.

Welcome to the addiction! :D I think a BATAC is what you need. You will find some interesting offers in exchange section. I simply love my Batacs.

Go with a BATAC or if you need some chopping power...go with a FFBM.

Hello and Welcome to the world of pure insanity and poverty!:D

But I wouldn't change a thing other then your mailing address to mine for all proper inspections of INFI inbound knives!:D

Thanks for the welcome guys. I appreciate the links as well. Just what I was looking for. I think the BATAC would be the choice to start my collection with. I basically need a good all purpose whittler/fish cleaner. Something a little bigger than my folder but not a chopper. Would really like to pick up a FBM in the future to handle the heavy chopping. The addiction is beginning.

+1 on the BATAC. It is a sweet piece of INFI. You may also want to look at a Meaner Street, it is a little more scaled down but I really like mine for cleaning game, etc... Whichever you decide on... it won't be your last!

Good Luck to You. You will at least have a lot of fun on this Forum. I like the Badger Attack, but you can't go wrong with an ASH-1, which is available for purchase on the Busse Combat website(for a limited time). Welcome to the club.

Welcome to the INFIdiction, and I agree with my fellow HOGS that a BATAC may just fill the bill for you. However, when it comes time to consider those pesky zombies....welllll...you just can't top a good ol' AK!!! :D
