New guy... just bought two Benchmades w/CE blades... did I screw up?

I'd say you had a good choice.

One thing you'll learn around here, knife nuts are some of the most picky people you will ever talk to :D

I personally don't like combo edges, nor fully serrated. But in all honesty they do everything almost as well as anything else, if not as well... Many people will say serrations cut fibrous material better... my razor sharp plain edges cut through rope, clothing, etc... with little problem, can't see it cutting much better with serrations.

most people do fine with cheapo folders, with no name stainless steel, so you're already a step above the game :)

Those knives 'spoke' to you - you did fine. Better than fine, actually - what a great pair of gifts. You bought finely made knives - and will likely buy more Benchmades. Enjoy the new ones for a while first, of course. Welcome to the madness!

I understand the downside of a CE (you lose 1/2 the cutting edge), but all of the knives that I currently own are CE. As long as the blade is long enough to start with, the serrations are an added bonus in my opinion.

I made the ultimate sin a couple of weeks ago and bought a BM Auto Stryker with a CE tanto blade . It was just too damn pretty to pass up. Sometimes you just have to give into the mall ninja in you ;).

Hey Stainz... good to see you here, too. 1911Forum, S&WForum, CandlepowerForum, HighRoad, GlockTalk? Yet again we cross paths!

(someone else here already got the DHart screen name, so here I'm ZDHart).

frankiebagadonuts... I understand CE Tantos aren't everyone's cup a tea, but they do get a lot of respect from a lot of folks. My Carson M-16 with CE tanto blade served me really well for years... and is still very good knife. Congrats on that, you mall ninja you! ;)
