Hello everyone, been on here since August but this is my first post. I've been making knives since feb of this year and everything I have learned I have learned here from you's. I profile all my knives with stock removal and use a HF 1 x 30, files and sand paper for everything else. I also have a evenheat oven and do all of my own heat treating. So I thought I would share a photo of some of my recent knives to get some criticism and pointers.

Top knife, 1095 HC satin finish, african blackwood and stainless pins and lanyard tube.
2. 440C satin finish, african blackwood and stainless pins and lanyard tube.
3. 1095 HC Caswell black oxide finish, G10 forest camo and stainless pins and lanyard.
4. 01 tool steel satin finish, walnut handle and stainless pins and lanyard.
5. O1 tool steel polished finish, cocobolo dymondwood and stainless pins and lanyard tube.

So take a look and let me know what you's think and what I need to focus on the most to improve and get to the next level.

Thanks in advance

Looks pretty good as far as fit and finish go from what I can see in the picture.

As far as improving, there are a few things that stuck out to me.
3 and 5 seem short and have wide blades for how short they are.
2 and four seem to be the same pattern except for the butt. The backs look pretty straight and could use a little curve.
On 2, 5, and possibly 4 the are where the scales meet the knife it looks like there is an awkward/abrupt slant towards the blade.
Without a spine shot to see the profiles it looks like the handles could be slimmed down a little.

Keep in mind this is just personal preference. If they fit your hand and you like the designs go with whatever works.

I like the top one the best. Overall very nice for just a few months experience. Also kudos on taking on the heat treat yourself. I felt that doing my own made it more "mine" and complete as far as the process goes. Just make sure to get it tested post HT to make sure you are hitting the Rockwell you want. Keep it up!

They look great.

It might be the picture; but what's with the bottom blade? It looks like it's etched towards the tip?

thanks for the critique I appreciate you taking the time to look at my knives. I had to smile when you said that you like the top one the best because that is the latest knife I made. i actually finished the last of three yesterday. the progression of the knives are 3,5,2,4,1 being top so your critique pretty much followed my progression.
thanks

thanks for the kind words... that is actually a reflection of a towel on the back of a chair that was next to where I took the pic.
thanks

I like the top one the best, your fit and finish look good,
Personal preference: Slightly more ricaso and watch how you terminate the scales at it, the one on the top is looking good there is some shape to the front of the scale.
Your off to a great start, make some more and challenge yourself with some different styles and blade shapes.

They look pretty good from here. Can you show some more up close shots of your most recent knife?

I no longer have the knives but I'll be finishing another tonight and I'll post some pics. Thanks for your interest and suggestions in advance.
