Hey everyone. I'm new to the forums and thought I'd introduce myself. My name's Matt and I'm from Ohio. I found the site a few weeks ago to look up some info on a knife. I looked around a bit and decided to join and figured I would fit in the trad sub forum the best. My interest in knives mostly include lockbacks, slipjoints, and fixed blades/skinners. Since joining the site, my interest has been re-sparked and I've got a few new knives the past week or so. Here's a pic I took today of one I just picked up. I'll try to add a few more photos of some of my knives (nothing old or rare) b/c I know everyone likes pics (me included). Here's a photo I took today with one of my other traditional passions. I look forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Matt. We're glad to have you join in the fun! Just a warning though ... that re-sparked interest is likely to cost you! ;)

Welcome and enjoy your time here. Lock your wallet and all cash and/or credit cards away.

Get out while you still can...er, uh at least while you still have money in your wallet. Welcome

You're doomed!

Just kidding! Welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. And yes, the wallet is getting lighter by the day.

Here is the first knife I've ever owned. My dad gave it to me probably about 22 years ago. I tried to find out more info about it but came up empty. If anyone knows anything about it, please feel free to chime in. It has Colonial, Prov. R.I., 492 stamped on the tang.

Hi Matt, welcome to these parts... to be honest, as Gary (Peregrin) has pre-warned you my friend.... its costly hanging 'round these parts!
Im sure I speak for us all to say we look forward to seeing more of you.

Colonial Knife company existed from ~1920 till 1998. If you were to Google "Colonial Knife Company" you'd likely come up with a lot more information.

Aside from Googling, you might also put a thread on the Bernard Levine Knife Collectiong and Identification Forum.

Welcome Matt.
I have a knife almost exactly like ( except for tang stamp ) your first knife you owned with the Winchester advertising. It's marked Ambassador U.S.A. It has advertising on it as well..... P. Ragonese & Sons ..Dealers in Waste Paper MA 2.7411.
It seems to date around the 50s -60's

Hi Matt, and welcome to the club. :)
This is (soon you will find out by yourself) the coolest section of BF and you will enjoy it.
As for your wallet...the respark of your passion is not the main problem...the fact is that, once your fire is on, people will keep throwing chops of dry wood onto it with every picture they post...

Hey, Matt. Nice looking Buck 55 you got there! Welcome aboard.

When you have some time to kill (and maybe a glass of something brown from, say, Tennessee, Ireland or Scotland), do yourself a favor and check out these great tales from our own jackknife (AKA Carl).
