New guy saying hello

Thanks everyone. I can tell already that I'm going to enjoy spending some time here.

knarfeng, thanks for the info. I'll try to get some better pics and post it in the ID forum.

Gevonovich, they do look a lot alike. Thanks for the info.

festerfromnzed, it's a longbow hybrid with some R/D built in. The model is a Thunderstick MOAB made by Jim Reynolds in Michigan. My favorite bow to shoot.

Thalestin, you definitely can't go wrong with a buck. I have a 112 at home and a 55 custom on the way. I've also been using a Zipper 691 to field dress/skin for the past several years.

quattromori, part of the problem is looking at all the photos. I see some beautiful knives and want them all.

mnblade, thanks for the link. I could definitely spend days on end reading through those stories.

Hey, Matt. Nice looking Buck 55 you got there! Welcome aboard.

When you have some time to kill (and maybe a glass of something brown from, say, Tennessee, Ireland or Scotland), do yourself a favor and check out these great tales from our own jackknife (AKA Carl).

Let me give fair warning though, Jackknifes tales are highly addicting. However I too highly advise them (just not at work cause its had to read just one) Welcome to the forums!

Hi Matt!

Welcome to the forum here. It´s the coolest subforum you can find in the whole world wide web (wwww). But your wallet will get smaller and smaller :D
It´s great getting new guys here ... :)

Just bought my first Case last week (after drooling over all the pics in this forum) and got it in the mail today. Bought it on the auction site without much description and a poor photo. It kinda looked like amber bone in the photo and I had a long shot hope that it might be stag. I knew it was a risk, but it payed off when I opened the box today. Can't complain about the price either.

Case Trapper in purple appaloosa (1998) New in the box.

Here's the only other Case I have. It was a Christmas gift from my dad a few years ago. (2004?)

I think I'm going to hang onto these two to pass down to my kids when they're a bit older. Top one for my daughter, and the bottom one for my son. After reading the peanut cult thread, I think I know what I'll be looking for next. I've been wanting a peanut for awhile and that thread pretty much sealed the deal.

Welcome- I believe it was Jim Ham that said " any old stick will do for a bow, you tell
an armorer by his arrows" nice stuff.
Ken.

Welcome. Nice knife and nice pic!

I just got my 55 today too. Nice little knife. Kind of a warmer-toned version of the Prince I used to have. I like these because they offer kickback functionality, classy looks, but without being too heavy.

How about some pix of your other Traditionals?

Here's one my grandpa gave to my dad, and then my dad gave to me a few years back. Too big to carry for my taste, but one that has a lot of sentimental value. My grandpa passed away about 25 years ago.

I think it's too late. I've been looking at peanuts lately and have already decided. It's not a matter of if, but when.

Yep, wallet getting lighter and lighter. Oh well, it's just money and you can't take it with you. Got this Buck 55 in the mail today. The stag is nice, but what sold me on it is the blade. I'll try to get a better pic tomorrow in the sunlight.
