New guy w/ questions

Hey Folks. My name is Jason or Jace & consider me a blank page. I've been thinking about trying to build a knife, but I thought it might be a good idea to buy some "cheapos" to take apart and experiment; to figure out how things work, go together, file work, auto conversion, etc....
In searching, I've found quite a few M-Tech knives. Any good? Am I on the right track? If not, why? Any advice to put me on the right track would be greatly appreciated.

i've never made a knife, never tried, so take my advice with caution.....

have you looked at kife kits? I've heard about them through this forum and they look rather nice. Here's a link: http://www.knifekits.com/
Again, Ive never used them but it seems you put them together yourself, so you should be able to learn the basics (maybe...?) anyways, welcome to BF. You'll find the people are generally nice here and if you stick around long enuff you'll learn alot!
