Wanted to introduce my self. I have been making knives for the last 2 years but only have 6 completed knives and an equal amount in the scrap pile to show for it. Have been lurking on and learning from this forum the entire time. Thought it was about time to become part of the community. Want to thank all the regulars for the vast amount of information given freely. Without you i would be nowhere near where i am today.

Thanks! Guess i am going to have to start taking pictures of these "knife shaped objects".

Yep. Always err on the side of posting pics!

Welcome aboard... I'm sure you've figured out too that this place is as valuable tool as a grinder or a drill press.

I'm pretty much in the same boat as you! I started making about 6 months ago and have finished 7. I've been between here and YouTube to learn as much as I can and finally decided to join. It's nice to go here and have an answer for basically all my questions!

Welcome. Let us se what you have been doing. Posting sketches and plans before you start the knife will get you lots of advice to consider and help avoid errors before they happen.

You are only a short run from Harrisonburg, VA. Come over to the Custom Knife show on the first weekend of April and say hello. There are lots of suppliers there and some great knife makers. It is a knives only and very friendly show.

Thanks! Will be posting some pics of a WIP i just finished hand sanding. Will also post pics of a Nesmuk design i am thinking about starting next.

Very excited to hear about a knife show so close to where i live. Have been fly fishing around Harrisonburg off and on for the last five years. Can drive there without GPS. This will be the first knife show i have attended. Hope to see you there!

I'm always there. Can't miss me .... look for the Stetson with the bear claws. I always have the end cap in room two. Pop's knife supply is right through the door across from me.
