Yesterday GWs from BCS come. This two just adorable!

Also from one hand I like thin edge they both have - I prefer this to pretty thick edge on my other GW. From other hand I should note that this two knives were dullest I ever have - on my thread test both show 140 gramm which is worst record. Personaly I do not care - I resharpen them and for me the fact that edges are quite thin much more mportant, resharpening will be much easy, but I do not think that this is good - from Busse everything should be perfect...

Thanks, Vassili.

Awesome pics Vassili... and congrats on your score!!!

I agree... these could have been a little sharper from the shop... but still, I love these fatties! :D :D

I'd love to see more pics when you have them all sharpened up with that Vassili edge.

.

Nice pics. Some edges dont come as sharp as others from Busse but the angle is consistent but then not everyone likes the same angle on their edge. I think this conversation has been heard before. You have inspired me to break out my edge pro and sharpen a couple of mine up. I better get the camera out and take some before and after pics.

strange... i thought the edge on mine was quite sharp compared to other blades out there...

Nice pics - to me this IS what a Warden should look like ......... but then one of my dream knives is the OFF DUTY!!:D:thumbup:

Busse shows big inconsistence in sharpness. I had Red AD sharpened pretty good, firsd GW was not so good and had thick edge. Thouss two much better to me because edge is thin, but 140 gramms I considers as a dull.

I already resharpen blue one - already shaving hair, I even have it on video, today I will fix Zebra and post pictures and mpeg tomorrow. Because edge is thin new edge I put does not looks too wide as it was on my first GWs.

2 lunde

This is actually example of black background and still lightened side, so entire knife is visible, including sides etc...

Thanks, Vassili.

Hey man, cool stuff! I also think my two red/blacks are dull compared to other Busses bought in the last several months.

Very nice!! Wish I could of gotten one in that color combo...Goto start practicing hitting that F5 button so it's second nature....Nice pics..

It's not the skill with which you hit the F5 button that is important. What is important is knowing WHEN to hit the F5 button. This is one of the first lessons of hog-fu. If you listen closely to the wind- you will know, young grasshopper. When you are truly ready, you will need no F5 button. You will sense the store's calling, and you will be there at the precise moment when heaven and earth intersect. And your cart will runneth over.

At least, that's what I've heard.

I concur. Nice photos and my Bruiser wasn't up to par on the sharpness scale compared to most others I've seen recently. I really like it though. I think I'm making it a user though, so have touched her up.

And this is how they look after resharpening:

And as I sad edge is thin so in comparison with my old Skunk GW, Zebra and Jeans GW looks much more reasonable, with same edge angle:

Thanks, Vassili.

I'm still trying to figure out what's up with a few things...

Regarding the different colors and terms folks tend to use.
- Skunk = black/tan with black dominating?
- Zebra = black/tan with tan (looks white) dominating?
- What looks like black/white is referred to as black/tan?

Also, regarding G10 and Micarta, are the following true?
- G10 is generally more 'vivid' than Micarta.
- Micarta will become 'vivid' if you oil it with mineral oil. Is there any downside to doing this, i.e. will the grip feel oily?
- Micarta is more forgiving as G10 can chip.
- You can sand Micarta. Can you sand G10?

Thanks for helping out the newbie.
