Folks... this is the final thread in the 'Charcoal Wash' finish saga with my Cold Steel Frontier Hawk...

This 1st image shows my Frontier Hawk as it was received from Cold Steel...

This 2nd image shows the same hawk after my first 'refinishing' attempt, where I was trying to give it a more 'rustic' appearance...

i'm going to try this when i win a Craig Barr, i like the more rustic look than my ink job which almost looks synthetic till you hold it.
 
Dusty one... I had trouble posting pictures from Photobucket... there was a shot taken in sunlight, and it looks a lot better in that picture!!!

I am gonna try to get Bladeforums to delete this thread, and then I could try re-posting this 'Part 3' section again...
 
The picture that didn't work is MUCH better!!!
