It is strong! Went out today and did some chopping. We have a very large live oak that blew down in a recent storm blocking one of our trails. I need to attack it in a serious way, get it out of the way, so I started today.
Before I got started I convexed the edge on my belt grinder. Look how deeply and cleanly this dude cuts!
I put some weight into the swings. I wasn't trying to break the handle, but if it was inclined to break, it probably would have! I think it'll stay together for a long, long time.
Now to make a sheath.
