new here and want some opinions

Im sure that you will be very pleased with your purchase. Supersteels are cool, but they can become an obsessive persuit. At the end of the day, if the knife works well for you, then it's a good knife.

I believe it fell out of my pocket or someone took it. It had a clip so it couldnt just fall out but it doesn't matter its gone.
I've had more knives fall out of my pocket with clips then without.

To your question. I would suggest buying a mora. About half the price you're looking at with shipping costs and will out perform the grylls knife.

I've never had one fall out on its own but the clips get bent and worn and the bucks clip was kinda bad about not holding real snug to your jeans anyway.

Spyderco Tenacious, Benchmade HK Monochrome, Kershaw (anything, really, but Blur if you can find it at that price point, or RAM perhaps), Cold Steel Voyager, Buck 110 or Vantage Pro. Those would all be good starting knives in your price range. Kinda in order of how I would buy them, but YMMV.

I have spent hundreds of dollars on Gerber knives, and although their designs are good, I have been nothing short of severely disappointed every time in the quality of the steel-edge retention is nonexistent, the edge falls apart fast and is hard to keep maintained to a useable sharp edge. Take a look at Kabar's Warthog series and folding Doziers. For the money you get a world class knife.
