First off like to say hi to everyone on this site...I need some help picking a knife ...I am not new to knives I'm an avid hunter and I like to fish...I'm ex military So knives have been part of my life for 46 years....Here's the situation I have a becker bk9 as my large knife have a Mora companion as my light duty woodcraft knife and an Ontario rat 5 as my primary blade....Also about another 50 knives to boot..Love Love Knives.. So anyways I wanna go with a light weight medium duty carry hunting knife also needs to perform ok with Bushcraft type stuff. Three I'm looking at are Mora Bushcraft black the Gerber Strongarm and the soon to released Mora Garberg...I've looked at a ton of knives and reviewed all of em....these are three ones I'm leaning towards. The Garberg not sure of yet. It's kinda of a maybe maybe...So any help making my mind up would be very helpful.

I'll start with thanks for your service. I don't own one, but id go for the bushcraft black

I have the Bushcraft Black along with several other Moras, it's a good knife but nowadays I usually prefer to carry the lighter Clipper or Companion. The added blade thickness of the Bushcraft Black isn't really necessary, especially if you have a BK9 along with you. Have you considered the BK16?

budget would help, I'd be looking towards some of the Bark River stuff if its within your budget.

I have a bk16 as well ...Well it's actually my wife's knife...It's a great knife but for SOME reason the handle just doesn't feel right to me...

My thoughts exactly. If on a tight budget, a Mora Bushcraft Black is an great choice. If, on the other hand, you have a couple hundred bucks to spend, Bark River has many, many excellent choices - Aurora Lightweight, Gunny, and several from the Bravo series are some of my favorites. Definitely worth checking out in that price range.

Another option in the same price range is the production version of the Fiddleback Bushfinger - love these knives - here's one in natural micarta, excellent stonwash:

There nice knives..Out of my price range for what I'm looking for. And the ones I listed are the ones or wanna the ones I want to go with..Nice pics.

Great pic of a bad a$$ blade Derek!!
Excellent blade shape on that beauty!
Which steel is it wearing?

ESEE Model 4, 4HM

ESEE does look like a good option, they have several handle variations now (the one in the photo is the new one) so you can find something to suit your style. Can also go Scandi and look at Helle and EnZo, they got some really nice blades that are still affordable.

I thought the FF MT Bushfinger was a inspired suggestion from link2derek, but even FF's MTs are relatively pricey, & in your case that at least in part takes it out of consideration. You've been a knife lover 6 years longer than I've been breathing, so I hesitate to even mention this, but just in case you haven't considered the option...I've got to say what I always say when I see similar questions here on Bladeforums; Get a custom fixed. They can be had for whatever your reasonable price point is for a knife, & you'll end up with a piece that is not only a one of a kind, but likely constructed of superior materials - esp. the steel...on average, a similarly priced custom is going to incorporate a higher-end steel than its production counterpart, & a lot of the time, they come with a better sheath as well. And you don't have to approach a maker & go thru a 2-?? month process of designing & waiting for a custom knife...I've only done this a handful of times - now, I've been supremely happy with the results every single one of these times - but, I almost always just snag an already made custom that I like right here on BF, & it's in my hand 3-days later!

With that gratuitous advice over, I'd also humbly suggest looking at a different blade grind for a hunter/shrubbery crafting knife as you've described. A lot of guys just love the scandi-ish grinds, & to each his own, but IMO, a high saber or FFG would give you a more versatile/better food processing/at least as good of a wood processing/typically lighter & even better balanced/just plain more attractive knife. But again, I completely get it if your reply is; nope, I'll stick with a scandi-ish grind. At any rate, best of luck with this!!

check out the custom fixed blades part of the forum-Duckchildress has just been putting out a ton of stuff at ridiculously low prices about every day. Gollik is cool, there's one in your range, really there is.

I will second browsing the custom section of the forums. Duckchildress and Austin Goldman offer up some great knives for pretty awesome prices. I own a Childress and really like it. Dont own a Goldman but have been following some of his work and hope to pick one up eventually.

Big fan of the new ESEE modified handle models. Just under $90 each.

BK 16 or 17 would definitely go well with your 9 for a little less money. Looks like the 15s are drying up and starting to go for more $$.

I haven't used it yet but I got a Real Steel Bushcraft in D2 in a trade recently, feels pretty good in hand but no idea how it'll actually perform. Looks like they can be had for about $45.

Moras work great for a lot of people but except for one that'd been reground by Baryonyx I find they chip out on most of the types of wood in my area.
