You may find that you prefer gas chain saws :confused:
LOL on that one...

Welcome Voodoo! Glad to have you here. I think we did meet at the Blade show ... you were with us at Fogo's right?

Anyway, I think the Tarwar makes a nice first knife. Then you can move down in size and crooked in style.

welcome voodoo. it doesn't really matter which your first khukuri will be as you will most likely collect them all.

remember, it's not enough to just have a WWII or a AK, but you need one in horn, in wood, Bura made, or Sher made, 15,18,20", than you gotta have a user...

Chandan... antler,

it just goes on.

enjoy! stay away from the blems though. those be shark territory.

Be Welcome, Voodoo, to the Cantina. The nicest place on the 'Net.
Where the knives are curvy (mostly) and the talk is straight (mostly). :rolleyes:

Sit Long. Talk Much. :)

i just posted this on another newbie's thread but it seems to apply:
====================
Howdy,

welcome aboard. jest remember around here any knife less than 15" is 'small' and anything less than 9" is 'dinky' and is considered more suitable for use as a karda (the little utility knife that shares the back of the khuk's sheath with the chakma - the little blunt steel used to dress the edge of the khuk).

also remember that most of us here are certifiable and prone to sprouting rubbish at any time, and have a firm belief in zombies (our moderator 'munk' is one), but we also have collectively about 9 million years of experience in the cult of sharp pointy things and are happy to share it. (yvsa has about 3 million on his own, never ignore what he says, he's usually been there, done that & bought the t-shirt AND coffee mug to prove it. he even lets zombies stay over at his place)
====================

as you have assumed the moniker of 'voodoo' be aware that we waste inordinate amounts of man-hours discussing which hunk of sharp steel is best for dispatching zombies, and/or which is the best caliber hand cannon. if you start making a few zombies, we can start testing our theories on them as the few members we have who actually ARE zombies don't like it when we kill them & inherit their posessions, they make us give them back after they regenerate.

Thanks for all the welcoming guys, didnt expect such a large amount so quickly. Good to see theres a nice crew here.

I was at Fogo's with you guys, and delighted in weilding the large khuk's around nervous looking patrons and wait staff.

Thanks again guys.

Voodoo

oh, and P.S. I have actual buisness cards that identify me as a certified Zombie hunter........odd bit I am

DKP: "There is no known cure for HIKV. Welcome to the Cantina "

There is no cure, DKP, but one can control the symptoms by living a good life.

Well here's my slow butt chiming in six months late. I wish I had noticed this when you first posted it Voodoo, but all the same I'm glad you made your way to the Cantina.
