I'm new to the forum and knife making, looking forward to reading and learning.

Has anyone used Hardox Extreme steel?

Where is a trusted web site to buy knife steel ?

I know this answer is in the forum somewhere, but I can't search with my freebie account.

if you google what you want and after put Site: bladeforums.com you can find posts with what you are looking for on the site, so it would look like "Hardox Extreme Steel site: bladefourms.com"

Hope this helps, and welcome to BF:D

Welcome to Bladeforums!

That sounds like a knifemaker question, so I moved it to Shop Talk.

First off welcome to the forum and you come a great site. Ive learned a ton here and am still a rookie but hope to move on to a level higher soon lol. The first thing you need to do is fill out your information and let people know where your at. You most likely have a maker with in 20 miles of you that will take you under his wing for a leson or 2

Welcome to the site!

There are a number of good places to purchase knife steel. I've not heard anything about the company you mentioned, but some commonly used sources for knife materials/supplies and steel include:

Midwest Knifemaker's Supply (www.usaknifemaker.com)
Pop's Knife Supplies (www.popsknifesupplies.com)
Knifemaker.ca (for those in the frozen northern expanses)
Texas Knife Supply (www.texasknife.com)
Knife Kits (www.knifekits.com)

Other commons sources for steel include www.Flatground.com and www.AdmiralSteel.com

Hope that helps. As mentioned, having your profile filled out can be a big help as there may just be an experienced maker just around the corner.

I filled in my profile. I've got a weird knife design that I want to try out. It's a hybrid knife and ULU. Lived and worked in Alaska for several years and learned how to use an ULU. But I'm tirded of dropping the ULU to pickup a knife.

Thanks Again,

Dan
