Hey guys first post here, I've been lurking for quite some time and finally completed my first knife with all of YOUR help!

So here it is, Japanese style paring knife 3.5" blade, AEB-L @61HRC, satin hand finish, Bocote scales, flat ground to about .008 give or take and then sharpened on the edge pro, its pretty sharp and can shave and cleanly slice phone book paper however I feel like it can be sharper...

Anyway any comments, criticism, critiques are appreciated, I have a few more similar to this nearing completion as well. Its not perfect by any means but for my first I'm pretty happy with it!

Thanks!
Will

Thanks much guys! It only took me like 8 months to finally figure out what the hell I was doing lol

Yes, it looks great and only 8 months? Really! that is fine quality work there!!! I have one suggestion and that is do not wash it in the dish washer if you want to give the edge a chance to stay sharp.
I certainly would like to see more as they happen.

Looks good. I agree it has Don Nguyen look.

One thing when sketching out or grinding a blade with angles and points like yours is that the human eye will do a comparison of all the angles and lines in any object. A quick glance at any two or three lines and the brain will instantly determine if they are parallel or not. It will spot a very small inconsistency. You may not even consciously see it, but will have a feeling that something is "off".
In a blade like yours, try and make the angle of the butt, tip, and handle front all at the same angles for maximum effect.

Thanks for the kind replies!

I don't think I'm going to do much angular type stuff after this its definitely a lot harder than it looks, like Stacy said even if you can't see it something just looks kind of off.
Might revisit after a couple more, still playing around with designs trying to figure out 'my' style

I'll def post more as I finish some!

Thanks again!
