New here, question about career in making knives

Well, then you have the right idea behind it. I've talked to so many people over the years that were so excited about learning how to make knives that they weren't willing to listen to what it takes to make knives. There seems to be two minds about it, either that it's mystical and magical, or that it's so easy and anyone can do it. From my experience, it's actually somewhere in between. Some people have all the passion in the world, and get get a single thing accomplished, others can bang out a knife shaped object in no time flat, but there's just no soul to it. Not that I mean that in some weird metaphysical sense, mind you. There is just something buried in the folds of your cerebral cortex that will tell you what a good knife is. You'll see it, feel it, and when you really get down to it, you'll just *know* it.
