New here story and first pics.

Welcome to the forum sir!
There goes the kids inheritance! :D

LOL! No kidding!

Welcome aboard Bob, this is a great little community here. Tons of knowledge and comraderie here.

I gave a Baby Bean to my brother for his birthday in December, great little knife.

Welcome to Thunderdome!!!!! Oh, wait...... Welcome to the Forum! That's a nice knife you got. I really like the scales.

Good folks here.

Glad to have you Bob. I consider this sub forum one of the best places on all the internet. Welcome. Never be afraid to ask even dumb feeling/sounding questions here. This forum is very, very patient with new guys and gals.

Well thank you all so much for the warm welcome. Yes since I got that Gunstock I've also acquired a Queen Country Cousin in burgundy, another Case medium stockman in genuine stag, a Rough Rider large stockman in brown/green bone, the butterbean of course, and I felt I would have to have a sodbuster jr. in yellow to fit in here. I'll get pictures of all of them along with a few I already had up sooner or later.
Thank You --- Bob

Welcome aboard Bob. This is the best knife forum I know of. I look forward to seeing the rest of your knives. You may find that the support group here tends to make the madness grow. Now that your here there is no cure.

Chris

Welcome. It appears you are quite the quick learner. Yes, you must have a yellow handled Case Soddie Jr.. It's sort of the membership card or like that little lapel pin for certain lodges. ;)

There should probably be some warning labels and data sheets with traditional knives that state, "The contents are known to be severely addictive and can lead to excessive spending and too much time spent on forums and online knife stores."

But the meetings are fun and no one tries to get you to quit. They just enable you so they aren't alone in their suffering.

This is a group of enablers, not a support group.

And in honor of that fact, yeller Sod Buster Jrs are great knives:

Welcome aboard the Good Ship of Lost Hope, Bob. Be advised that if you embark with this crew (of which I count myself a proud member), all hope of moderation in cutlery is lost forever. We'll feed your addiction like Gunner's Mates feed 32-pounders for broadsides. The seas will get rougher, the longer you sail. You've been forewarned (for all the good it'll do). :D

LOL, I just had this mental image of a bunch of guys young to old, jeans to Armani, showing up at a door in the back of someplace and pulling out a patina'd yellow handled Case Soddie Jr. in the palm of their hand to gain admission. Or pulling them out at somewhere as something like a secret lodge handshake.

See what yer in for?

Hey, Bob, and welcome! You're not the only one come late to the party. I just became interested (fascinated, really) by traditional knives at the ripe old age of 55 (now 56). I had in previous lives carried a knife as a tool, and then later switched to a multitool (original Leatherman) but never really gave it much thought, just left it in the bag unless needed for something.

It was a few Case knives (specifically the Peanut, Small Texas Jack, and Sway Back Jack) that turned a mild interest into an addiction / hobby /preoccupation, whatever word fits.

Never too late for an old dog, fleas and all. :)

welcome aboard our magnificently appointed luxury vessel.Just be aware of that strange australian bloke.....oh wait thats me

Oh yeah. Forgot to mention a way to make some really good images of knives doesn't involve a camera at all. A lot of guys use a flatbed scanner and some sort of background material to take their "photos." You can do some interesting things with them.
