No Devon there not mine. Would be nice to see them though. Peters family more then likely has them...

You're very welcome.

Here's another contribution, video of Pete that was shot in 1999 by my oldest uncle Ted Mattiuz who grew up with Pete, only eight years younger. Pete was born 1 Nov 1926, died 24 Aug 2002.

Enjoy. I've never seen his throwing routine on video before.

Ahhhh, time flies like the wind, and fruit flies like bananas.

Mom's oldest brother Ted, who grew up with Pete LaGana and knew him well in Pete's early days in Ebensburg, passed away 7 July 2013 after a short battle with cancer. We can thank him for the video. I can thank him for a whole lot more. Last time we were together was February and Ted was outrunning me at the local flea market checking out firearms and edged things, introducing me to his friends along the way. He was close to twice my age and I could hardly keep up, and he had the usual glimmer in his eyes.

I was in PA in May this year, and received a copy of Pete's book "Poetry Everyone Can Love" thanks to another longtime family friend, Dave Huber, of the Cambria County Historical Society.

On another note, a pristine Hess version of Pete's Vietnam tomahawk design sold on ebay recently. Dusty One, were you lucky enough to get that one?

Hay Devon,
Nice to hear from you again. Sorry to hear about your Uncle though... The Hess on "E" bay wasnt me. Do you remember what it went for ?
I have a couple Hess's and have been looking for years for more history about them.

I agree looks like a Hess and the dimensions are right. Wish they would show a shot of the top of the head when they list these pieces.
500.00 is about the going rate too. Thanks for the link !

Hello Devon.... i’m many years late on this thread, but have been fascinated with your stories and knowledge of Peter LaGana. Unfortunately, most of the PHOTO links no longer work. Is there anyway you might resend them? Either as a repost here, or to my email: hkmelton@mac.com. I would also be very interested to see photos of your Lagana associated hawks. Should you ever be interested in parting with even one of them, i am very interested.

Best regards,
KeitH

Hi Keith,

I'm still around! Sorry about the broken links, comcast (xfinity) stopped hosting files. I'm afraid I don't have the digital images, so I'll have to dig through the photo albums again.

Thanks Devon... I appreciate you going to the trouble. Anything you will share will be greatly appreciated.
