New here.

Oh that’s not me! I can’t figure out how to post pics yet. But I do have a cool 1972ish 110. As well as a case hammerhead and mako!

You're a "free to play", like me, which means you need to go through a couple extra steps.

1) You'll need to sign up for what people are calling an "image hosting service". This is a website where you upload pictures, and maybe they show you some annoying ads or something for the "privilege" of using their server space.

I think "Tinypic" and "Flickr" are still free. There may be others, Flickr wants a 12-character long password with letters, numbers, and special symbols. I read that and said @#$%-you.

Poke the Google box with the phrase "free image hosting", and you'll likely find some. Just make sure they are only hosting your images, and not selling your IP address to somebody else.

2) Once you've jumped through the hoops that the hosting site puts in front of you, you'll be able to upload your photos. Generally, you can just "click and drag" from wherever your computer stores images, right to the open tab with the hosting site. Some will auto-detect what you're trying to do, some will need you to click on the button that says "upload photos', or somesuch thing.

3) Since each site is different, you will need to find the way to copy links that "your" site uses. One of them will be for forums and bulletin board services. copy that one, paste it into your reply here, and the software takes care of the rest.

JJ_Colt45 JJ_Colt45 , I used Imgur for years, until recently when their site starting giving me the "wrong turn" error. I assume they recently updated their code to provide ad-blocker users with an unsatisfactory experience.....

Welcome!

Without a paid membership, the easiest way to post pics is to make a free account at imgur.com. They also have a smartphone app which you can use to upload photos directly from your phone. You can elect for your photos to be posted publicly or be hidden (visible only to you and people you share it with).

Once you have uploaded a pic to your imgur account, tap on the photo until you see this:

View attachment 2270116
Tap on the arrow at the bottom right of the screen and you should see several options pop up.

View attachment 2270117

Tap "copy URL" then paste the URL into your post in whichever thread you're typing up. Once you tap "Post Reply" your link will automatically convert into an image like below.

*note that I'm using a Samsung, so the symbols and options may differ for an iPhone. But the process should be the same. Good luck.

Shooot. Lol. I’ll get the gold membership in a couple days. I’ll be sure to post my pics then. Lol. Don’t really see a need to get a second app just for pics.

But much like my Ex while on deployment. Just close your eyes and imagine it. (Less likely to let you down 🤣🤣).

Collection from old buck 110, to an old Alamo branded German skinner my grandfather used to carry. to Case Mako, to a nice collection of Case Trappers from the ruger anniversary, to a SMKW 2006 ribbon cutting trapper, to a Hank Williams Jr trapper. To an old Marlboro Swiss Army knife. To a couple exclusive SAK classics. To a few modern flippers. My newest being the SMKW Kershaw lightyear exclusive. And a little in between. Hell even a modern flipper from the Crescent tool company (actually pretty killer for a $20 knife.)

Good deal, I've enjoyed having a gold membership for years now. It helps support the site and grants you meaningful privileges.

As an aside, even with a paid membership, I think it's still helpful to have an account with a 3rd party image host. Depending on my location, and quality of wifi, sometimes I'm unable to post pics directly from my phone but can do so through imgur.

Ok I caved. That’s most of them. I have some others that lay here and there. Mostly left out as they are more EDC rotation. These are more of the “vault” or collection

Edit: I marked that one out intentionally. It’s not one that ever goes out. It’s more collector as a fan of history and oddity. I didn’t want to 1. Violate any rules on day one. Or 2. Possibly offend anyone.

For those curious. It is a cheaper novelty blade that was produced between 1950-60 if I recall correctly. It has a little man in a cloak and says “loyal order of the xxx” (you can use context clues. I don’t support nor condone, so I don’t want to advertise. But was pretty stoked when I found it as a knife collector)

I am on the hunt for a actual WWII KaBar USN (I get everyone likes the USMC. But I actually favor the USN blade. As well as I was Navy.) but I want it actually WWII Mil Issue. So that’s $$.

And an American bayonet is on the list as well as Boker Plus makes a reproduction of the V-42 that’s pretty nice.

But I also want to up the game on the modern flippers as well.

I do suppose that’s a valid point.

Whoever owned this 500 before I did. Did etching all over the metal. Most is flowers and their initials. But love the beach scene on the bolster here. I’ll get more pics of it tomorrow. Gotta love the old pawnshop finds. Would love to hear the story. This is what I like to collect.

The unique stuff. The pre loved stuff that you can see the love on. The one of a kind. Not just something many have in their collection

Welcome to BF, like your folding hunter tray. Familiar faces in there.

In tray #4, your blue FFA 8OT? I’ve got the twin of it, except your blades are in better shape than mine. It’s the only 8OT I’ve ever seen with brass bolsters.

Yes sir! I love the shade of blue. I wasn’t in FFA. But saw it at a flea market and had to get it. The blades are almost brand new. Even with the etching still intact.
