Just wandering how everyone- that has one anyways, I think these are pretty fresh from The Ranch anyways - The Full Size Elkipse 3.5"
Harpoon Tanto's in CPM-20CV.
I was able to buy an Orange and Stonewash from Whitty, and also have another one in Bruiser and Anodized Blue coming from National Knives.
Suffice it to say, I'm pretty happy with anything Tri-Way from the Hinderer Ranch. Especially since owning a few XM-18's having the Tri-Way action.
But, the Eklipse has always been the one that really caught my eye. And, I'm really glad they are finally here. ( of course thats not to include the 3" version that has been around now for a little while I believe anyway )
I did have a gen 2 Eklipse with a Harpoon Spanto blade that I really liked, but was just lacking in the flipping action compared to the Tri-Way XM-18's that I had. But, I'm glad to say that aint the case anymore. I've been very, very, pleased with the new Gen 3 Tri-Way Eklipse. The one I have is just perfect as far as I'm concerned. Ms.Amanda Yoder of the Ranch, did an outstanding job on tuning the action of this Eklipse. As well as some XM-18's that I've had before as well. All that being said, I hope to see some pics of your Gen 3 Elkipse and comments as to what you think of them.

Pic of yours looks absolutely awesome! Love my XM-18 and might have to try one of these. That blade is wicked!

Very cool! I keep almost pulling the trigger on one. I had a ZT 0392 and I loved the ergos with that handle shape. Did you keep the bearings in or switch em out?

Nah man, I've left them in. Its tuned really well.
I may one day change just to see.
Can't go wrong with the Tri-Way brother ;)

p.s. I've had the ZT0392WC and this Eklipse is it on steroids lol ⚡

So, starting to feel a bump in the action of this Blue Eklipse as well.......not as bad as the Orange Eklipse, but its there. Just started tonight.
This is really disappointing.
Anyone else having problems with the action of these new Tri-Way Eklipse'es?

Don’t have a tri way Elkipse - I dislike the grip and also the look of that blade ... however my XM 3.5” tri way is smooth as butter on bearings.

Yeah, all the Tri-Way XM-18's I've had were as smooth as silk.

I'm with you mate . I enjoy the straight handle profile of the eklipse, possibly more than the xms, but I'm hanging out for a non-tanto blade profile . Hopefully they come out soonish .

Yeah, and not to mention, they just look so darn good, lol.
I would really like to see a Harpoon Spanto next.
That's prolly not up your alley, but I love the Harpoon grinds.

Noticed in a few other threads that the lockbar insert screw had gone missing...

Bet that's the culprit.
Actually it wasn't.
And, the action got markedly better when i added a couple drops of oil to the raceways/bearings
I didn't take it apart though. But, it still isn't as smooth as the XM-18 Tri-Way.
The Ranch has the Orange one as I write this.
I'm anxious to see what they say.
I'm still dumbfounded over that lock bar screw coming out after a drop on the kitchen floor.
Its all pretty dang frustrating what with the post office essentially taking double the time it used to to get packages to ya. That being said, it will be a while before I get that screw from The Ranch. It should ship out today.
I went from 2 new Eklipse to 0 Eklipse in a week.
I was so disappointed in the actions of both Eklipse's. Moreso suprised I guess. The XM-18's Tri-Way models I've had were incredibly good.

On a lighter note, I do have a new XM-18 Skinny Skinner coming. Lol, I didn't realize that the whole knife is thinner, I thought it was just the blade.
Just not my week fellas.....hope I like it....

And, I certainly do appreciate y'all's interest and help with these two Eklipse's.
Big thanx for letting me know the lock bar screw was missing. Hell, its untelling when I wouldve figured that out...
