New Hinderer Eklipse Tri-Way

Just got a new XM-18 Gen 6 No Choil Wharncliffe and the difference between it and both Eklipse models is staggering!!
From having XM-18'S before, I knew those Eklipse models didn't feel right at all..
Now, flipping a new XM-18, its just unbelievable.
The Ranch hasn't said anything yet. I'm really, really hoping they can get the action as smooth as the XM-18, there's not any reason they can't, is there?
At any rate, I just hope they can....

So, the lockbar screw arrived today.
I actually found a the right hex key to get her screwed in snug.
However, the action is decent, it still doesn't compare to the XM-18.
Still waiting to see what the Ranch says about the Orange Eklipse.

Update:
Still no word on the Orange Eklipse
And, since the lockbar screw came out, I decided to send in the Blue and Black Eklipse to The Ranch as well.
It's actually pretty hard to get in contact with The Ranch. And, when ya do, it by email.

I hope they will find a solution for your Eklipses
Thank you!
I just hope they can get it as equally good as this XM-18 Wharncliffe I have.
The action on it is just phenomenal.
Heck, the Full Track as well as the 2 XM-18 Skinnies I have are much better than those 2 Eklipse's I got.

Update:
Carrie advised me that there was still intermittent rubbing of the bearings- and Rick will need to look at it.
So, hopefully the Boss Man can get it flipping smoothly. The Blue and Black Eklipse should be there tomorrow hopefully.

What are the bearings rubbing on in the eklipse design you reckon?

No idea.
I just know that the flipping action is just not good. Not even close to the XM-18's that I have.
But, you sure can feel what seems like the bearings rubbing. I just really hope they can get it straightened out.

So, the Orange Eklipse has been repaired and on its way back to me. They should receive the other Eklipse tomorrow.
I must say communication with the Ranch has been excellent. Carrie has really taken good care of me along with Sam and of course Rick.
It was touch and go at first, but things have worked out really well. I truly appreciate The Ranch.
Can't wait to get this Orange Eklipse back.....

I’ll be the different one here, never been a fan of the Tri-Way or the lock-bar insert... just my personal preference.

I’m a big fan of the Eklispe though, got a Gen 2 with the Trailing Point blade :), I’ll post some pictures this weekend.

Man, I've seriously considered getting one just like that from True North, they have a Orange and Black Trailing Point, that is just awesome.
Alas, if it were only a Tri-Way
I had a Gen 2 Elkipse. Harpoon Spanto. Those damn Tri-Way Actions have spoiled me.
But, please don't get me wrong. That's just me.
I can totally dig that you don't prefer the Tri-Way.
I'd love to see those pics!

I am with you on this one. Having owned four gen 4 on PB washers and one gen 6 (all xm-18 3.5"), I just fail to the see the advantages of tri-way over washers only. Smooth action on washers somehow feels better than smooth action on ball bearings as you NEVER get gritty action with washers but it is possible with ball bearings. Also, washers are much less issue-prone than ball bearings.

So, the Orange one came back perfect!
Still hasn't even cut anything though lol.
Thanx Ranch!
