New hinderer XM-18 3.5", lock is funny?

Haha, well don’t ever buy a crk!😉

I’ve noticed this on other knives before, especially after a cleaning and lubing. I suspect it was from getting lube on the lock face. I now clean the lock face and blade tang with alcohol right before reassembly. Seems to have fixed the problem every time. I could be wrong but putting lube on the lock face may have been the cause.

If I paid CRK money for a knife and it required a “break in” period I would go ballistic. No thank you!!

If it indeed isn't normal, then it's unfortunate that something so expensive is being shipped out with what appears to be an agregious QC oversight
Apparently you don't pay attention when car manufacturers issue recalls on $100k+ vehicles....stuff happens when people are involved in making anything.

The break in period for my CRKs is one of my favorite parts. It's a feel that this knife was truly mine from the start, and the adventures it's been on were ours, not shared.

I love my four CRK’s as well. I look at the break in period of any knife/car/motorcycle/firearm as me putting in the work to make it mine. Which is why I don’t buy used things (not that it’s beneath me). I love patina on leather and steel as well. A well worn firearm slide, knife blade/pocket clip or leather goods are awesome!
