  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

New Hinderers arriving today hopefully!

@R ..understood.

@J1All. Yes, there are SB Hinderers out there. I've got a 3.5 Spanto that's SB and Bronzed ano. (Lockside/ not blade).

I'm just so happy right now. I love these guys! I took the skinner grocery shopping today. I don't know if you guys recall but I was the one who bought the 24 a while back and when I got it it was heavily used, most of you thought it was battoned, lockup was at like 75%. I sold it for a huge loss and started getting into Medford's. After that I always had my eye on them. I just decided I wanted to get one and you guys know how it goes, these two just worked out. These are as close to new and perfect as I can get aside from getting it direct. I can't stop smiling these are amazing. Hope everyone else has a great day too.

Sweet 24 (nice Skinner too).

Question regarding The Ranch and "blasting"... do they only do bead blast or do they also do sand blast?

I used to have an older Gen4 (sterile bladed) XM-18 Spanto that was blasted and I always assumed it was sand blasted... but maybe it was bead blasted? And I currently have a blasted Skinner en route (again, assumed it's sand blasted, but maybe it's bead). Would appreciate knowing. Thx! :)

The Ranch does both.....beadblasted locksides are smooth and shiny.......like in the pics of the 24 above.....
Sandblasted locksides are rougher and dull/flatter......

If you google "hinderer bead blast vs sandblast" you can get lots of pics to visually compare.......

Ok, thanks. Based on those pics I'd say my new incoming Skinner is indeed sand blasted. My old Spanto was blue ano'd too, so tougher to say... but I'm guessing it was sand blasted as well. Thanks for the clarification. :)

I know that sand blasted XM's have similar texture to that of a sebenza (if you've ever owned/held/seen one). That's how I've always been able to identify through pics and such. I also compare what the lockside looks like to that of the stainless hardware, like the stock LBS, handle nuts, and clip screws when looking at pictures.

Yep, have a Sebenza as well and my newly incoming Skinner (from the pics) looks a lot like it texture and color-wise... so I'm confident it's sand blasted now. Pretty sure my old Spanto was too (will have to dig out some old pics to see). Thx.
