For sale ($150) (I paid $211 from BladeHQ 2 weeks ago!) I have a Hogue EX-F01 (5.5 blade). Overall length 10.5 in. Weight 10.4 oz . Blade thickness .25 in. Cryogenically treated A2 tool steel hardened to (RC 57-59). This is the model with the Coco Bolo scales and they are absolutely beautiful. This is a new knife it has never cut a thing, has the beautiful mirror factory edge that is razor sharp, and is absolutely flawless. I did remove the scales and lightly sand them with 400 grit to take the shine off of the finish but you would never know that it isnt a factory finish and it actually looks much better. This knife is an absolute beast! In my opinion this is the ultimate fixed blade knife 5.5 in is a perfect carry size for deployment, it gets the job done but its not too heavy or bulky. It is thick enough to be solid and handle every task, but sharp enough to slice beautifully.
Introduced in 2011, the EX-F01 is the ultimate field tool packed with features. With its thick tool steel blade and integrated skull crusher the EX-F01 is ready for all tasks. Additionally the broad point in front of the false edge provides strength for the tip and a large land for batonning. The weight of the EX-F01 provides ease of chopping and improved penetration.
The 3D sculpted scales provide the user a comfortable grip while performing strenuous cutting activities. To complement the grip, the blade includes a serrated thumb ramp and finger detent in the frame. The EX-F01 has an integrated hidden compartment in the frame which is accessed by using the supplied wrench.
We believe a knife of this quality deserves a sheath of equal quality. The sheath has a hard insert, dual retention snaps, multiple carry options, MOLLE compatible and can accept a small pouch on the front.
