UGGGGHHH!!... The past few weeks have been hectic. I've been home one of the past four weeks. Business has had me all over and I was due for some good news. Well, I got it. My sister and brother-in-law and my wife and I decided to go in half's on a cottage. With the real estate and economy in Michigan in dire straits people are selling off their excess properties, toys, and rental properties at an alarming rate. We were able to pick up a small cottage for only $5000.

Its in a private campsite/park that borders Waterloo State Game Area so there is an anual rent but its only $100/month.

Waterloo SGA is 20,000+ wooded acres that are directly across the canal (that connects two lakes) from the cottage. Heres some pics:

I can't wait to spend some time there. Its only an hour from home but you know how it is trying to find free time.

Thanks for looking,
Chris

Wow. Great price and beautiful area. 3 seasons only, am I right?

Thanks everyone. The reason its so cheap is because all the cottages there started out as campers/trailers. The structure is built around a camper which isn't all that bad. Its hard wired, plumbed and has an in-ground gray water tank. Even has A/C and ceiling fans in the addition/living space. Full size refrigerator and dual propane tanks. If inclined I can even get satelite TV. Now I need to upgrade my Verizon so I can get wireless internet while I'm there so I can check in here :p.

For an additional $250/year it can be 4-season. We decided not to do the winter access this year as it needs a little work and the previous owners already winterized it.

We can still go out and work on it on Sundays without paying the additional lot rent. We just can't stay overnight.

I'm just excited that I have a place to put my boat (the Swamp Cat). I hope to spend all my time on the water fishing.

Thanks again,

Chris

Good find. I spend a lot of time at Waterloo. :)

TFin,

There are more available there. Drop me a e-mail at Rupestris@gmail.com and I can give some details.

If you spend time there, I'd be happy to get together with ya and get out onthe water this spring.

Chris

You're going to love it there. The Waterloo-Pinckney Trail is among the best in the state for hiking, biking and skiing. Lots of good paddling too.

Time share???? :D:D:D:D

Time sharing with my sister and b-i-l. With so many local folks here I might have to have a W&SS get-together in the spring :p.

You're invited kdg as long as you leave some fish for the rest of us to catch :D.
