I know a lot of you solved your knife storage situation a long time ago but for me it was a relatively new problem. I had poor distraught homeless knives seeking shelter in the darnedest places. They were in various packs and cabinets and living under bridges and I had a couple just laying out in the open on the workbench. I even had some of them living in...cardboard boxes...oh the shame. Well, no more. I bought a deluxe condominium for them to live in and I can tell they like it already...or at least I do.

My growing collection (rapidly growing). Just realized my 2's didn't make it into the family photo. They were hiding in another pack I hadn't gotten out yet. Oh well, another family photo needed some other day.

And what to do about all of these sheaths?

First a little liquid heaven:

Tada!!!! Home Depot had these on sale. Seemed just right - 16" deep

Now everyone's got a nice comfy place to stay and I can get to them easy.

Sheaths are still a little crowded in.

Lotta room for miscellaneous stuff:

It's great but like George Carlin said, "It's just a place to keep my stuff while I go out and get more stuff". I've got stuff coming soon from Dex and will probably order more stuff soon. Damn, I'm going to need another one of these. Hope they're still on sale.

I also realized after taking these pictures that I need to spend a night or two cleaning and maintaining my stuff.

This particular tool chest has 5 ball bearing drawers and it's very solidly built. Two top drawers are 2" and the bottom three drawers are 3" deep. All drawers lock when the top is down. I've got other similar chests from Craftsman that I've had for years but this one is deeper and seems to be pretty well built.

Man, nice collection you have going on there!

That's a great way to store them. I have chest I keep mine it too. However, I need a larger one though.

There is a Becker storage thread around here somewhere too. If I find it I'll post a link.

Very nice collection. Great storage option - would also like to see how others store their blades.

Much better than my Rubbermaid container!

I have a smaller Husky toolbox though I've been using for a few years and I really like it. Are you keeping any rust inhibitors like ZeRust Capsules in there??

Also, I don't think any of you guys drink beer I've heard of before.

Where did you get those red wood scale on the BK16?

They are still on sale today, 6-drawer model like his is $99 and the four-drawer is $79.

Think I'll spring for the 6-drawer myself today to hold my fixed blades in also. I have a Craftsman Harley-Davidson Orange and black for many of my folders, but the fixed blades need a home also.

Haven't yet, I just set it all up yesterday. I'm open to other's thoughts on this. Is something like that necessary? This is in my unheated garage.

If you like Imperial Stouts as I have come to appreciate over the years, I think there is none better. Apparently others agree. It's not a beer I'd drink a half dozen or so of while hanging out on a boat in a party cove but for those times when 1 or 2 will make for a good evening, it's a great choice.

I bought that 16 from someone here on the Exchange. I believe it is Cocobolo wood.

If you keep your stripped knives oiled, not really. I don't keep anything like that in my knife box (they are in their own boxes so it wouldn't do much good) but I do in my toolbox.

Actually, I don't drink. If it isn't in a gas station or commercial I probably haven't heard of it!:)

They look great. I have looked online for wood BK scales, but the only ones I have found have been pretty plain. I really like figured wood. Those scales Guyon got from FAL'ER are awesome (he posted a link). That fiddleback maple reminds me a lot of the 'flamed' and 'quilted' maple you see on guitars.

I'd take a couple of those bk9 sheaths off your hands dude!

Great minds think alike! I have a ten dollar husky tool bag holding all of my blades, sharpening supplies and paracord.

Now I just need to forget about kickass steel and buy a house for the wife and kid. And my stuff. Ha.

Great idea. I may look at those today.

Because of this thread, I went and picked up the 27" 4-drawer cabinet. It holds everything but my folders and a couple of HI khuks. Very nice organization. Thanks for the idea.
