This is the fourth folding knife I have redone the handle on and I would love some critiques on it. Let me know what you guys think!

I really like the Mycarta! Looks awesome!

Is it just me, or in the 3rd pic, the spine looks like it still has a good bit of sanding marks??? Either way, that's easy enough to clean up.

Thanks! Sometimes experiments pay off.

It does have sanding marks, I still need to wet sand and polish the spine and the blade.

Very very cool! What is your method and materials? I really like that. :)

Thanks! I used burlap and conductive copper mesh used in military helicopters and Bondo fiberglass resin. My buddy works on them and was able to get his hands on some for me. I've named it "apache copper" micarta.

And you probably made those scales for a whole lot less than you'd pay for a small slab of Thunderstorm "Kevlar".

Nicely done.

Apache copper. I like that! After posting I looked at it again and could clearly make out the materials.

Evencoat makes great pigments that work well with polyester resin. If you keep making cool composites you might like to try some. I think the natural color of the resin looks perfect with the copper though.

I really like the look of the combination of materials you used as well as the overall colors. The best compliment I can give you is that I would proudly carry a knife with those scales. Well done!

Thanks Gary! I appreciate it!

Very cool. Is the burlap weaved into the copper conductive mesh or are my eyes playing tricks on me? That is some cool looking stuff to be sure. I think you could probably market that... It certainly looks a lot better than some stuff I have seen sell for retarded $$ lately... Very nicely done.
