I thought I would share this new hunter I just finished. I just posted it on my website for sale. Paul made a great sheath and Jim took his usual great photo. Thanks guys.

Rick Dunkerley engraved the steel frame. The pins are sterling silver and the handle is fossil walrus ivory.

Let me know what you think of the knife.

What an exquisite example of the art! Such a graceful arching. Ivory tones and colors are wonderful.

Perfect!

What is the material on the tang the handle? bronze?

also how are the bolsters fastened?
Thanks

that's super unique, Josh. Nicely done!!!
the quality and finish of Long sheaths is quite unbelievable, as is Coop's skill at capturing the whole package.
A most welcome thread, thanks!

Hello Josh
I take the liberty to make a comment on your knife. It is a wonderful knife that is for sure. I like the combination of the different materials and the flowing but crisp grinding lines. The little doomed rivet heads are simply gorgeous and the gun blued guard is a very lovely contrast to the damascus blade and bolster. The engraving on the back is a little bit too much formy taste. And of cause the leather sheath is very eye pleasing. Copper has taken a lovely pic and found a wonderful way to present this knife.
Congratulations sir !

For you new collectors or guys who just don't know, a Josh Smith knife is a must have. I got mine and I could see having a Josh Smith room in my Dream House.
After all he was born with the initials JS . What a way to start out life.
The new website is very classy!

A lot of cool stuff going on. Really like the blade profile.
If you go to Josh's website you can actually enjoy seeing the whole knife without having to scroll down.

Very classy looking knife. I especially like the shape and detailling on the guard. Well done Josh.

Josh, just out of curiosity...do you plan to do your own engraving in the future? Not that I don't like Ricks; heck I own two of his knives with similar engraving and I love it, but I was just wondering.

As always, Josh's knives are a pleasure to work with. Yes, here is the smaller version to see in entirety.

A look at Paul's magnifico sheath:

There is subtleness abundant in this piece. (Is that an oxymoron?)

Thanks Josh! Apparently this went fast.... :)

It's quite amazing how many knifemakers have taken up engraving in the last few years. Some have become pretty dang good at it.

I think that with the capabilities and quality of Josh's ability to
design with Damascus (see the bolsters), he really does not need
to add any engraving to knives of such a level of perfection...

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)
