I have seen 2 auctions offering new production Imperial pocket knives on ebay in the last week. Does anyone know where these are being made or by who? Does Taylor have the Imperial name as well?
Thanks for any info...

I checked my Taylor info, they do not advertize the Imperial name, Just:
Old Timer, XTAC,Uncle Henery, 4X4 Silhouette, Outback, X Timer, Nitro, Simon, Avatar, Lightweight,Switch it, Badger, Lake & Walker, Apex, Tradesman, Tough Tool, Contractor Knives, Jackmaster, Classics.
but I did not see Imperial, What about the Canal Street Knives?

TBLLC is the sole owner of the former Imperial Schrade Corporation's intellectual property. They will rent you a name to use though if you want. Ask the sellers who are promoting the knives whereof and whofrom.

You can check them out on the web. The principals are Joe, Wally, etc., the top guys from the former ISC. The cutlers are the cream of the crop from the former ISC. They only produce top notch work in limited patterns and quantities. Bone and other now-exotic handle materials are the norm. I think they are even working with some custom makers for new designs. They are in essence a "benchmade" operation in the original craftsman sense of the term.

PS- Larry, Paul and others here can tell you more than I. Larry has been there, though I don't know if he got a hat.

Nope didnt get a hat. They didnt have anything for "sale" when I visited so all I left with was a couple of pictures and some kind words from Dave Swinden and I gotta tell ya that was great.

Thanks I have seen some of their Knives, I like the way they are made. I will buy one for my wall. I guess I need to decide which one?? I am a trapper fan

Now Mr. Swinden was not a very visable figure at ISC, but he went back to the pre-Schrade Walden days with ...um..Ulster if I remember correctly. Started out as a window washer-gofer, became a master cutler and patent holder, friend and peer of the Baer brothers. He retired at ISC but stayed on as a consultant doing proto designs etc. His son followed in his footsteps with ISC as well.

Eric,
You've peaked my interest with that question. As a resident of Ellenville I am still upset that my current situation forced me to back out of the ring knife deal. But A CSC bowie? Might have to sell a kidney. Please let us know if this comes to fruition.
