I ordered my Izula a few days ago from NGK and UPS tracking says it'll be here tonight. I was getting all happy because the UPS guy always drops stuff off about 6 p.m. so I figure I'll have plenty of time to play with it.....wrong!

My GF emails me and says "Oh BTW we have dinner with my parents tonight at 6:45"......crap! So now its going to get here and I'll have maybe 10 mins to play with it or it'll have to sit out in the dark and cold night - Wait...I live in FL and its 84.9 °F right now - I mean it'll have to sit out in the humid darkness.

Anyways I already got my eye on a RC-4....I'm sure I will be very pleased with the Izula.

Pics will be coming soon!

You guys are going to have dinner? Sounds like a perfect chance to play with the knife. Just try not to act like you're having TOO much fun cutting your food. Don't build a figure 4 out of your carrots or anything. That's a dead giveaway.

Welcome to the pack!

As Dylan said, I would totally take it with me. Fit's nicely into a pocket.

I just got home so I snapped a few quick ones...there will be more to come.

It got here 15 mins before I had to leave and that was enough time to put some 550 cord around the sheath and throw it on :) I played with it all dinner.

EDIT: VERY BAD PHOTOS!!!! give me a few mins to take some more.

Still not too great. I need some natural light.

Damn, if those are your bad photos, I can't wait for your good ones.
That's what I was thinking, well staged and in focus, I can't wait for the "good" ones.
Congrats on your Izula too Rmc85. Maybe they're serving a roast and will let you serve it up, RAT style.

Well ya'll didnt see the first ones I posted. That pic thats up was the one I went back and took again.

I'm sure I cant get better ones but I need a little more time.

Here are some better pics. I think I could still get better ones but I'll have to find time to take them.

Hell Yeah!! Now that's what I'm talking about, those are some sweet pics!! Thanks for posting

Awesome pics man. You should seriously consider entering in the RAT photo contest if you aren't already. You've got some good stuff there. Welcome to the family.

Thanks for all the compliments.

This is really a great little knife. I also have a KaBar BK11 and I was blown away at how sharp the Izula came compared to the BK11.

Dylside,

Whats the photo contest? I havent been around the RAT forum long enough.

Thanks.

The photo contest has been discontinued and replaced with the monthly drawing. http://www.ratcutlery.com/win_a_rat.htm

Your photos are really fantastic. If you don't mind me asking, what kind of camera and lighting setup are you using?

I got a Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ4 for pretty cheap. I went into H.H. Greg and bought a different camera (paid in full) and then they say "oh we dont have it in stock". I told them to get the boss man and I got him to sell me the Lumix for 149.99 which is way cheaper than any other place I saw.

As for lighting I just try to take pics outside but not in direct light because they seem to come out better that way. While outside I usually mess with the exposure to try to get exactly what I want.

Really 95% of it is the camera....no joke....
