New Jersey Steel Baron & NSM

We already knew that Aldo was skulking about trying to score that load of L6, but I supsect that there are some VERY happy stock removal guys out there this week after seeing those HUGE lumps of CPM steel.:D

Dunno. They have to roll it, first. Gotta admit, though - I'm in love with CruForgeV. I beat the heck out of a 'test' chopper and was really happy with the results. Maybe I should get some L6 and O1 and we could make some damascus for our chopper project?

Yeah, I love CruForgeV too...........up until the time that I have to start handing sanding the stuff in a hardened state.....sheesh!!!:D We need to get our resident mad scientists (Dr. Cashen to the OR!!!!!) to figure out if this L6 will mash together with CruForge.

Good pics, Matt...

Thanks, Don!

Joe, that's not a half bad idea - I'll see what I can do about getting a piece or two to smoosh together.

You're right about hand sanding, though - CruForgeV pretty much ignores the usual shop rolls. I've been fiddling with a couple new papers. If you find something that cuts better, please let me know.

CruForge even scoffs at Norton Black Ice paper!!!! You can feel it dull the paper after a few strokes. EDM stones seem to be the solution.

Mathew, is this outfit going to offer any of this L6 to the public, or at least to us Bastids!!! :D

Nice to know. The stuff rejects abrasives like nothing else I have tried yet. Makes one wonder how thin they can push their edges pre-HT. Grinding it on a Blaze belt feels like going back to AO.
