I got a great new job and started this week! I'm now a physical therapy aide--which means that I take the patients (who have had their treatment with the PT) out into the gym and help them perform their rehab exercises.

Great people, and atmosphere. A very good fit with all the Anatomy and Physiology that I have been learning in MT school (massage therapist).

That's all...just some good news from here:)

A job just puts bread on the table. Something that will do that for you, while allowing you to help others, feeds the spirit as well as the body. Good on you Rob, git 'er done. :D

If they don't exercise fast enough, prod them with a curved, pointed object.

Congratulations.

The contrast between Sarge's post and Aardvarks made me laugh my first belly laugh of the day:D

and thanks to you both for the well wishes.

And Sarge, you're exactly right. When you can get the two together it feels damn good:)

And thanks to you too Rick:)
--I hope things are going well for you too?

VERY cool..
My son is an OMD ( Oriental medicine/acupuncture)..
He also does a lot of rehab with people who have been hurt bad and the quacks cant fix it with $$$$ drugs.

Stretch, massage, Tai chi, relaxation/ meditation tecniques, good eating..
Good stuff !
Congratz !

It sure feels like you won when somebody says " It sure helped a lot"..

That sounds like a GREAT job! Good going :D . My little sister is a Message Therapist and she makes bucks. Yes, my little sister makes more money than I do. Tsk. Tsk.

Well done, good for you. You enjoy it and it is a huge help for someone that needs it, win/win situation.

Good for him:thumbup: There are so many ways to bring people back to health. We are living in very exciting times where people are beginning to break out of their usual habits and try new therapies. At my massage therapy school most of our pathology type classes are taught by a Yale educated Physican's Assistant--why? Because she was able to regain the use of her thumb on her right hand through massage therapy when all else in her profession had failed.

Thanks Heather! I love to hear things like this--I expect my practice to be successful because I think people will see that I'm in it because I really want to help them get better, but it's still good to hear reports from the field of other MTs doing well:cool:

And thanks to M.Taylor and Dick for your nice comments as well:)

Man some guys get all the luck ! You stand around and watch people exercise and you are the one who gets paid . On top of it all you get to tell them what to do . Buddy the sweet life isn,t a dream any more .
Could you at least say they won,t give you time off to fish so I,ll know that perfection can be approached but not attained ?

Luck Rob , it sounds great .

Huh! Don't see THAT much difference.

mutter, mutter, grumble.

;) Don't get me wrong--I liked your idea:thumbup: :D I'd probably only have to wear my 20" sirupati on my belt for most folks without actually prodding them.

Besides I much prefer cattle prods for motivation--(I would say ball peen hammers but someone already uses that here) ;)

Congrats Rob!! Sounds like a great job! I like Physical Therapists. Mine here in Provo is great. He and his assistents helped me out a lot with my recovery. Now if I could just remember to do my exersizes more often. :o :foot: LOL!!
