I have a Jurgen Schanz WSK and companion knife. The sheath is leather and is designed for both to be carried together, scout style. The handle material is brown micarta. The steel is D2 and is 1/4" thick. This as close to a Beck WSK as you can get. I have compared Roger Linger's WSK, Jurgen's WSK, and Beck's WSK side by side and have looked at the grinds, as well as the balance. Jurgen's is better than Roger's. By no means am I saying that Roger's knife is inferior. But out of a 10, Roger's is a 9.5 and Jurgen's is a 9.8, Beck is a perfect 10. The price is FIRM!!!!! I really would like a trade for a custom Emerson, but $800 is fair if I had to put a price on it. The pic shows it in the top portion of the case. The Beck ($2,100) is second from the bottom set. Compare the grind lines from the Beck to the Schanz. That is German Craftsmanship at its best. There is a video on Youtube showing a guy chopping down a tree with just this knife design from Schanz.

$800 NOW

PICS HAVE JUST BEEN POSTED!!!

Wow, $1000 profit on a two year investment.

No profit. The Beck is the one that is worth the most $2,000. I am selling thes Shanz knives and sheath for $800. With the shipping and insurance from Germany to me and the shipping and insurance from me to whoever buys it, I actually am loosing money with this deal!

Actually, I saw the post where you bought the Beck for $1550. That was the knife I was referring to. I apologize if my post was taken as inflammatory. I was just commenting on an observation. Fair price is whatever the market will bear.

The Schanz is a good deal and possibly a better knife.

On the warning, my bad, I did not familiarize myself with the rules of the forum before posting. Lumps taken are deserved.

Here are finally some pics of the Schanz. I hate selling it, but I got a trip to South America to pay for!

Just a note. The brown/red color in the serrations is leather filings and not rust. Yeah, it is that sharp!
