New K.I.S.S. knife??

Oct 5, 1998
Anyone else seen these yet?? The shiny ones?? With a regular blade shape, not a tanto. I believe it was a drop point. Just wondering.

I guess I'm the only person in the world to have seen these. Oh well.

Blades -- are you talking about the CRKT P.E.C.K. (Precision Engineered Compact Knife (?); smaller KISS with wharncliff blade), or a real Ed Halligan custom KISS?

This is the CRKT PECK from

There is also a CRKT Stiff PECK version.

I just visited CRKT site at but the PECK is not yet there, though.

Nope, not the P.E.C.K. or the Stiff one. It was the same size as a K.I.S.S, but shiny instead of subdued, and not a tanto shaped blade. It had CRK&T marked on it. Maybe it was a knock off. I didn't look at them too close.

Where did you see this? I might be interested.

Just because I talk to myself doesn't mean I'm crazy. What's wrong with getting a second opinion?
The new KISS is the Classic KISS. Made in Japan, it has a drop point/clip style blade with a higher polish brushed finish overall. The logo is red instead of black. The retail price is $49.95.

Where would I find one of these? I like the KISS design and a drop point would benice.

Do you know if some of CRKT's production have moved to Japan? Are there any other knives that will be produced in Japan?

The Classic KISS is scheduled at this time for September/October delivery. They're the only CRKT knives made at this time in the Japanese operation. All the others at this point are made in Taiwan.

However, there is another new folder series I've designed for CRKT that will be the first made in another expansion facility in yet another country, but the details are not ready for discussion at this point in time.

Keep an eye out, too, for Ed's new Neck Peck which will be shipping in a few weeks. Fixed blade Wharncliffe design retailing for 24.95.

In addition, more really cool designs in the works even as we speak.

Jim -- thanks for the "insider info". I really hope CRKT would update their site more regularly...
There are two places I know of to get the shiny K.I.S.S.'s. A.G. Russell had them at the Blade Show. Also you can get them from /. You'll have to email them. Their web site is still under construction. I don't know how many they have left, but at one time they had about 20 or so. No telling now. Tell them I sent ya.
