Well despite the few reservations I have I went ahead and bought one. Your pictures must have put it over the top ;)
 
I'm wanting the7505 like crazy, but I feel the same about the thickness and pivot.

I am not a tanto fan generally, but this one looks great. I still prefer the drop-point, but wish it had the same high hollow grind as the tanto.
 
Mine came today. I must say this thing is very nicely made. It feels like a very solid, tough, workhorse. It also looks and feels like it should cost a lot more than it does. The blade is thick but it does come to a nice point and it slices paper well. The detent on mine is very strong, but it feels like it's easing up a bit with use. Version two should add some texture to the scales and make the pocket clip ambidextrous. As it stand though it looks like a winner.
