New KA-BAR Knives

I'm thinking the Combat Kukri.

Light, fast, USA made, comfy handle, functional blade.

Not much there to not love.

The green Mule, Machax, and BK16 are must-buys for me. Everything else is a probably-buy.

To many I want, none I need, will get most likely, especially the BK's but have to start thinning the hurd first or wife will do it for me. Maybe we can get a list going as who wants what and make a big purchase to either save some coin and or get some freebee's what you think moose also how about a stickie for selling some kabar's or trading like the buck, becker, forum's do, asked in beginning never got answer and thanks for helping with the thread up top.The thread up top will look like this in awhile. OKB HOW ABOUT A GROUP DISCOUNT, A FORUM DISCOUNT, AND OR A SPECIAL SHEATH OR SOMETHING FOR YOUR DEDICATED FAN"S ?

I very much support nutoknives' suggestion of a Buy/Sell KA-BARs sticky. I sure hope the rules allow it.

Also, I missed OKB's comment about why we want the new KB toys.

Mule: Mostly because it's a cool looker. I've wanted one since I found out about 'em, but the green/black color combo sealed the deal. It will be nice to have a folder that fits my very large hands, plus it will be nice to have a hard-use beater folder (I don't want to beat on my Phat Bobs).

Machax: I have land in northern AZ covered in ponderosa pines, and the FS and fire department recommend trimming low dead branches. We're talking hundreds of trees and probably several years worth of weekends. A lot of the branches are on the small side, and I'd rather not burn a lot of gasoline using a chainsaw when I can take a good chopper to 'em, have some fun and get some exercise. Machax looks like the perfect tool for this. The original KB kukri also looks like a perfect tool, and I want one of them too (not all that interested in the new kuk). The Cutlass *is* a perfect tool but that stays in Phoenix to do fire prep for the barbecue and firepit. ALSO, the Machax will probably be my backpacking chopper for longer trips. It's gotta be better than the Cutlass though, which is stiff competition. Oh hell, I also want a BK9 to see how that competes as well.

BK16: Simply put, this looks like the perfect multi-use belt knife. Carcamping, backpacking, house chores on any given weekend, day hikes, boating... the list goes on.

Looking forward to purchasing and using both the BK4 Machax and BK16.

I'm most excited for the BK17, it looks great, and the size is perfect.

Other than that, I can't say that I'm genuinely excited about any of them. Not that they are bad in any way, but I'm not waiting for them to come out like I am the BK17.

The Machax is likely the closest I am to being "excited" for, but that excitement level is actually below some other current production models (BK7 to be exact). I really like the 9 as my chopper, and I'm not sure yet that the machax will be a huge improvement for me. I'll of course eagerly await reviews and comparisons to prove myself wrong though :D (Passaround?).

The Combat Kuhk looks pretty cool, but I'm not sure what I personally would do with it.

I not a huge fan of large folders, so while the ZK Mule folder looks sweet (can't deny it, I totally agree with you BRL), I don't know what I would use it for either. The little chinese folder doesn't look too bad though. And seeing how its MSRP is so low, it might be REALLY cheap, and I might end up picking one up, who knows.

Honestly, I'm most likely going to end up with the BK17, and either the BK7, or the JAB Potbelly in the coming months.

Oh, and are all of the US made Kabar blades going to get the new laser engraving and coating?

i want a becker tweener with the clip point, a zk mule and been wanting a leather handle mark 1.

i wish i would of bought the d2 impact before they were discontinued. i keep kicking myself for that.

i ordered myself a g-10 mule to give it a try.

Alas, no, not in the general forums. We can however, have a Kabar sales forum in the Sales forum, if Kabar permits it. Thats all it would take, Kabar would give the nod, Spark works his magic, and we have us a Kabar for sale forum, like Buck and Busse have.

Best we can do.

If Ka-Bar says OK then that would make it alot easier for the people looking for some nice folder's, fixed blade's, without having to read through all the rest that we have to now. I found it hard to have to choose which knife to let go but it did help letting go of my first knife to a collector verses someone trying to make a dollar(not that I am against making a dollar). I would like to get that going just as I have let go of a couple Bucks on the forum, not from the monetary end of it, but it is a better feeling letting a fellow collector get your knife and I have bought a few and so far all member's have been great. So here is a big Hell Yeh Mr Moose let's see how fast Mr Spark's and Mr Official Ka-Bar can get this going.

Sorry BRL got caught up with us getting a kabar trade-sale area,
those are toenail's a limited set 1 of 250 with Ka-bar releasing only a total of 6 toenail's through the 30 years I believe they were made by Case as they are very similar and some nice jigged bone, smooth, simulated ivory and such 1 more bottom of that set and 1 right behind the USMC in front of picture. Love them new BK's just got to get and hope Mr Official Ka-Bar and Spark geter done as it is alot easier to look in one area of the brand you are looking for.
